Technical Sales Specialist (Cellular Imaging and Detection)

How will you make an impact?

We are searching for an energetic Technical Sales Specialist with Life Sciences and capital equipment sales experience, ready to identify prospects, perform product demonstrations and close opportunities. This role balances prospecting for new opportunities, demonstrating scientific microscopy and plate-reading equipment and participation in local scientific shows and events. The Technical Sales Specialist will manage and drive instrument sales in the assigned territory of AK, HI, WA, ID, MT, WY, OR, BC and AB. This sales position will be home based and requires the individual to be located within the territory, preferably WA and/or near an airport for easy travel.

What will you do?

• Overachieve Sales Targets.
• Prospect for new business within the territory.
• Actively drive the sales cycle from end to end. Involves working closely with the customer, distributors, institutional administration, procurement, etc.
• Drive sales opportunities, often identified by distribution reps, throughout the sales cycle. Includes activities such as providing information on product capabilities and technical specifications
• Manage and perform scientific imaging instrumentation product demonstrations to prospective end users.
• Assist distribution reps with questions regarding our product line.
• Attend and participate in sales meetings, seminars and trade shows
• Perform updates to our CRM database to manage opportunities


How will you get here?

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in life sciences or extensive microscopy and/or plate reader knowledge

• 3+ years of sales experience in life science industry is highly preferred
• Documented success in capital equipment sales
• Able to travel up to 30%
• Able to lift up to 60 pounds
• Ability to work independently – self-starter with drive and focus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills
• Ability to learn and apply new technologies
• Preferred background in Imaging/Microscopy with knowledge of Plate-readers
