Support the implementation of corporate and divisional EHS initiatives globally within the Customer Channels Group (CCG) division. Provide continuous oversight, monitoring, guidance, and directives to ensure that facilities are assessing risks and taking the necessary steps to prioritize and resolve. Establish a communication network to convey EHS status to the CCG management team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides EHS oversight monitoring, guidance, and directives to the sites within CCG business unit.
  • Develop relationships and communicate regularly with Distribution Center staff.
  • Assist sites with the investigation of injuries.
  • Provide EHS support at the site level as necessary.
  • Provide leadership during/after regulatory audits and internal compliance audits ensuring that any identified non-compliances are contained and corrected.
  • Serve as a technical resource to sites in complex areas of EHS compliance, risk management, hazardous materials/waste, industrial hygiene, industrial safety, and/or ergonomics.
  • Manages site projects and EHS program implementation as assigned.
  • Serve as project EHS leader for site projects ensuring that are adequately resourced for EHS needs, participate in A3 development and strategies, regular communications with CCG management, and reviews and monitors completion.
  • Develop CCG EHS standard operating procedures and engineer the rollout, communication, implementation, and ongoing review and maintenance of these programs. Oversee Corporate EHS Database systems within assigned business units
  • Oversee SHED (incident reporting) and MSDS Online (HazCom) database systems ensuring that they are appropriately maintained at each site.
  • Serve as the expert to ensure continuous improvement of EHS management system and continued risk mitigation of sites.
  • Participate on divisional Practical Process Improvement (PPI) teams to ingrain EHS programming into processes and systems.
  • Collection and consolidation of safety metrics.
  • Collect, review, and analyze safety statistics of injuries and hours worked.
  • Determine and track EHS KPI’s during daily management board meetings, monthly business reviews, and quarterly management reviews.
  • Implement action plans to improve upon metrics.
  • Oversee EHS training objectives and make improvements to training programs.
  • Identify EHS training needs by facility and establish training schedules.
  • Monitor EHS training activities to assure compliance.
  • Deliver powered industrial truck and spill team training.
  • Review OSHA 300 and 300A Reports and other routine EHS reporting requirements. Oversee and advise distribution centers on hazardous, universal, and non-hazardous waste management. Support environmental permitting and emergency plan regulatory requirements. Support the Dangerous Goods team as needed.
  • Prepare and submit SARA Title III Tier II reports.
  • Manage RCRA hazardous waste compliance programs.
  • Become familiarized with the dangerous goods compliance program and training modules.
  • Deliver dangerous goods training via an established program to distribution centers.
  • Conduct audits.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Risk Management or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the environmental, health and safety or risk management field in a distribution, industrial, or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to develop and meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement procedures and compliance programs/tools.
  • Ability to develop, implement and deliver training programs.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in IT based skills including word processing, spreadsheet applications, database management and electronic communication methods.
  • Travel up to 30%, with potential for international travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Master’s degree.
  • CSP, CIH, CHMM, and/or CDGP credentials.
  • SARA Tier II reporting.
