Job Description

Purchasing Manager
Based in Seoul, Korea

Position Summary:
  • Purchasing Manager is responsible for purchasing and procurement processes, system including business division’s strategy development & implementation, common process definition and deployment, leadership and delivery to support the company’s business model, strategies and financial operating plans. Such activities include request for quotation, expediting open orders, inventory management, analyzing cost variances, rectifying delivery discrepancies.
  • Purchasing Manager will continue the Company’s evolution in best practice purchasing capabilities and organizational development to maximize leverage and overall effectiveness of supply.
Responsibilities:
  • Works as an owner of entire purchasing and procurement business process and procedures
  • Responsible for demand and supply planning by collaborating with the commercial team
  • Set inventory target and meet it with new own generated initiatives to fill the gap
  • Manage purchasing order and shipping, import clearance and delivery process especially regarding FTA application, Electric/Chemical product import regulation issues
  • Responsible for generating the relevant data and report for Korea Supply Chain SIOP
  • And providing the visibility of inventory of non and slow moving SKUs timely
  • Responsible for shipping Damage claim execution with Forwarder or shipper
  • Proactive and effective communication with all stakeholders of Sales, Finance, Marketing and executives
  • Expedites past due purchasing orders and works backlog reports to obtain current delivery information
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with supplier performance analyst while being able to escalate issues that do not involve transactional resolution (process changes, long term issues, etc.)
  • Address all adhoc requests regarding order issues in a timely manner
  • Participates in cross-functional business process improvement activities as required.
  • Comply with global procurement/sourcing policy
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10-13 years Overseas Purchasing/Procurement or related experience
  • Team management experience is a Must
  • ERP experienced (E1 experience preferred)
  • Flexible with demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Sense of priority and urgency
  • Good verbal and written local language & English communication skill
  • Extremely Organized
  • Experienced and well balanced at not only operational thinking also strategic thinking
  • Good at analysis and negotiation skill

Work Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, as needed.
