Job Description
This is a Regional Product Manager role, based in Singapore, focused on the Lab Services, Liquid Handling products category.
  • Work closely with BU product managers/Commercial teams to understand competitive landscape and build creative marketing plans to increase brand awareness and ultimately revenue recognition
  • Conviction for laboratory products is required to convince distributors on market potential and keeping their focus on LT products
  • Manage channels effectively ensuring they are competent in driving revenue growth of Pipette and Automation related products. This is achieved by providing product strategy, tracking plans, supporting customer visits, training channels and giving talks at customer site/seminar events
  • Technically competent to mentor, train & lead channels in understanding product application, position and market potential
  • Review pricing required for projects and promotions to ensure Thermo Fisher is positioned for success in the market
  • Run Marketing initiatives (short & long term) regularly to increase market share for existing products, re-vitalize low penetrated products and launch new products to the market
  • Ability to translate Business Unit Product strategies into local context and drive growth
  • Understands that that each country within SEA has its own dynamics. Candidate needs to tailor different innovative product strategies to effectively drive growth in the region
  • Comfortable at product demonstration, installation and customer training as required, depending on the business needs
  • Develop key accounts to drive growth in the region. Ability to work closely and bond with key accounts and their KOLs ensuring Thermo Fisher becomes their brand of choice
  • Identify and quantify new opportunities within the territory. This can be achieved individually or via synergy programs with other divisions within Thermo Fisher Scientific
  • Plan and manage marketing funds required to run campaigns and seminars within the region (including budgeting for corporate gifts, samples and flyers)
  • Handles quality complaints objectively and swiftly always ensuring the right information is supplied tactfully while maintaining good relationship with customers
  • Travel extensively within the SEA region (40-50%)
Background advantageous:
  • Background in Science and/or experience with Laboratory Products is highly recommended. Industry experience will be advantageous
  • Understand Workflows within the Science field (Cell Culture, Microbiology, Biobanking etc.) to be able to sell customer the right products needed for their applications. Make Thermo Fisher a one-stop solution for customer
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constantly evolving dynamics
  • Effective team player who needs to be comfortable working in a highly matrix organization
  • Positive Mindset needed to keep focus on driving revenue growth
  • Independent and organized to work efficiently in a lean environment
  • Good oral and written communication skills to work with distributors, customers and Business Units
