Job Description
Transportation Analyst
Based in Seoul, Korea

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Implement import and export Customs clearance in conformance with Customs Laws, Regulations and policies
  • Manage Freight Forwarder, I/E clearing agent and license application agent to deliver a timely and cost effective result for declaration
  • Prepare invoice & packing list, import license and other Customs clearance required documents
  • Data management of shipment status and track the whole Import/Export clearance process
  • Cost savings initiative & administration annual/monthly expenses including budget management
  • Handling short/over-shipment, damaged claim with forwarder & shipping party
  • Check tax and HTS codes, FTA application to find any unusual error in declaration
  • Drive continuous process improvements to maximize customer delivery, quality, operational excellence and financial benefits associated with corporate standards and industry best practices
  • Mitigate risk to the organization through proactive process management ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with Thermo Fisher Scientific policies, standards, and applicable laws in the area of import and export compliance
Minimum Experience and Skills Required
  • Bachelors Degree in Transportation / Logistics, Business, or International Trade, or an equivalent combination of university education and work experience
  • 2-5 years experiences in trade compliance management with demonstrated experience managing compliance activities in a multi-national company
  • Must be proficient in the local language and English
  • Experience in logistics or possessing a Customs Brokers License a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
  • Must possess solid judgment and ability to work autonomously from established goals and strategic direction – must be able to cope with multiple priorities and ambiguity
  • Possesses strategic thinking and can look ahead and respond proactively - bias for action
  • Change leadership skills and the demonstrated ability to effect change on a global scale
  • Solid presentation, communications and influencing skills – demonstrated through both written and spoken communication & can work with stakeholders
  • A strong collaborative leadership style with proven ability to drive change across multiple organizational levels, functions, locations, and “dotted lines” into entities to achieve objectives
  • Ability to work in a complex matrix environment to create buy in and implement processes
  • Strong problem solving skills and the desire to learn and use PPI to improve process
  • Excellent analytical and statistical skills including the ability to develop and measure metrics develop complex logistics and transportation models, etc.
  • Budget management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
