Provide support to a team of scientists engaged in the development and commercialization of the culture system products relevant to Cell Therapy. The ideal candidate would have hands on with blood and or bone marrow derived cell types and an understanding of key signaling pathways involved in there growth, differentiation & activation. Objectives include identification and optimization of the isolation, culture & expansion of distinct immune relevant cell types. Duties will include culture of immune cells and other cells types, as required for specific experimental objectives, as well as the design, execution and analysis of results. Employ a diverse array of assays and analytical tools to address key biological questions and product requirements. Critical thinking skills and attention detail are a must. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to play a significant role in creating next generation cell culture products and learn the product development process in a leading biotechnology company. Due to nature of projects, some weekend work will be required in order to maintain these cultures and experimental or project timelines.
Expertise in sterile tissue culture practices, formal training in immune cells and/or mesenchymal cell culture is preferred.
Able to work independently in a dynamic, fast paced team environment
Experience with cell based imaging and assays (fluorescent microscopy, flow cytometry, ELISA)
Effective communication/interpersonal skills
Ability to identify and extract key information from peer reviewed literature
Familiarity and use of standard cell and molecular biology techniques
Participate in the design, execution, and analysis of experiments with moderate to low level of supervision.
Highly organized, ability to maintain well documented laboratory protocols and notebooks.
Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
Strong preference given to candidates with demonstrable experience in immunology and/ or cell therapy. Industry and/or product development experience a plus but not required.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related life sciences discipline with at least 3 years of experience or MS with 2+ years of experience
