Job Description

Position Summary: The value stream planner / buyer role is responsible for planning and executing assigned purchasing related activities for the company in obtaining materials, services and equipment for production. Determines material requirements and maintains inventory at planned levels. Owns and understands the comprehensive tactical functions of master data set up, data parameter maintenance, forecasting, supply planning, service level ownership and KPI reporting. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercise good judgment within generally defined practices and policies when selecting methods for acquiring solutions. Support strategic sourcing activities, including supplier consolidation and cost and inventory reduction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates inventory planning and replenishment of raw materials, components, and finished goods
  • Effectively manage Supplier relationships
  • Participates in every aspect of supply chain management to maintain a reliable and cost competitive source of supply for the business unit.
  • Maintains, monitors Master Data; revises essential system planning data to ensure ERP system is effectively planning future requirements
  • Inventory Management: DOS reporting, inventory parameters, Product Life Cycle management; measure related KPI’s
  • Plans and executes procurement of finished goods and raw materials from approved manufacturers, OEMs and Suppliers.
  • Proactively reports product and material availability issues
  • Responsible for the weekly reporting on finished goods outages, analysis of low days of supply, availability of materials, stock outages, and shipment service failures.
  • Maintains purchase order status and shipment information in ERP system
  • Proactively provides supply status and shipment tracking to Value Stream teams.
  • Participates and contributes to monthly SIOP (Sales Inventory & Operations Planning) process
  • Responsible for material analysis and assistance with the process of change orders.
  • Completes special projects and assignments as requested

  • Bachelor’s degree, with studies in Business, Operations, Supply Chain with a minimum of 3 years of materials planning and purchasing experience preferred or a minimum of 7 years equivalent experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel with data analytics experience.
  • ERP experience a must, SAP a plus.
  • Experience working in Lean Environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application
  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (oral & written)
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities with a strong team focus perspective.
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP certification or certification in progress preferable
