Job Description

In support of a large plastic medical device manufacturer, the candidate will work independently to perform analytical methods development, validation, and polymeric sample analysis using a variety of analytical techniques (e.g. ICP/MS, GC/MS, LC/MS, FTIR, TOC, UV/Vis, and DSC). The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the laboratory instrumentation in good working condition in accordance with GMP/GLP guidance.
Specific responsibilities:
  • Perform analytical methods development, validation, and routine testing using a variety of analytical techniques (e.g. ICP/MS, GC/MS, LC/MS, FTIR, TOC, UV/Vis, and DSC).
  • Document the results of all work in accordance with cGMP/cGLP guidance.
  • Participate in the formulation of strategies to solve complex problems.
  • Maintain instrumentation in good order and perform simple troubleshooting.
  • Participate in the analysis of new materials and assist in evaluating material changes for product equivalence.
Requirements:
  • BS or higher in chemistry, analytical chemistry or biochemistry with a minimum of 5 years laboratory experiencer
  • Strong working knowledge of HPLC, GC, and ICP preferred and mass spectroscopy instrumentation and data interpretation
  • Strong working knowledge of cGLPs
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with Engineers, Sales, Marketing, and other Scientists
  • Polymer experience preferred
