Job Description
This position will be responsible for developing and executing a sales training curriculum for Asia Pacific region. Working closely with LSG Country Commercial leaders, Regional Division Commercial leaders and the Asia Pacific and Japan Commercial leadership team (ACLT) the position will assess the most critical sales enablement need and develop plans that successfully delivers expected results in a region with a number of complexities, utilizing in- house and vendors resources.

This individual needs to be successful in a region with diverse communication and cultural considerations, as well as challenges driven by distances. This position has been vacant for a year so in many ways will be building from ground up in an environment that is starving for training. This individual will work with the global sales enablement team to adapt global plans and resources to Asia regional needs and will collaborate with counterparts in China, EMEA and the Americas. While not their primary responsibility he/she may need to provide training via the web and/or classroom. This position provides a unique opportunity for a motivated self-starter to demonstrate his/her ability to add significant value to Thermo Fisher Scientific.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with regional/country sales leadership and Director Sales Operations in Asia to develop a sales training strategy and curriculum to enhance the organizations sales capabilities to drive sales performance and results.
  • Collaborate with the global/regional sales enablement organization to develop an annual training plan, adapt global initiatives and resources to Asia regional needs, assess effectiveness of current approach to training and implement suggestions to improve.
  • Ensure training strategy and plans is multi-medium and reflective of different language and cultural requirements of the region.
  • Develop/adapt training plans which appropriately include sales skills, sales methodology and product training.
  • Develop/Adapt an onboarding training program to quickly ramp new sales people and accelerate time to effectively sell.
  • Utilize approved sales process and methodologies and Thermo Fisher leadership and professional learning resources to create balanced learning maps for main sales functions.
  • Source, select and maintain selling skills vendor relationships within the region to ensure consistent and effective sales methodology training across the region.
  • Develop and maintain sales training reinforcement and refresher methodologies.
  • Collaborate with global/regional sales enablement organization to ensure employees are equipped to utilize CRM and other sales enablement tools and reports to drive results.
  • Eventually, supervise added regional training resources (specialist or contractors)
  • Responsible for the successful communication and execution of the annual training plan.
  • Develop or guide content development as needed.
  • Facilitate training via the web and/or classroom.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a discipline requiring extensive analytical skills.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Life Sciences preferred.
  • A solid background in training management.
  • Successful examples working with organizational leadership to identifying training priorities, developing a training strategy, annual plan, and executing on that plan.
  • Understand different sales training programs (Miller Heiman, SPIN, TAS) focused on methodology and skills.
  • Demonstrated communication skills in effectively setting and managing expectations.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and effectively influence and partner with business functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and pull in resources from a variety of sources to effectively deliver a training curriculum.
  • Experience developing an appropriate training plan in a complex structure.
  • Detail oriented and highly organize to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to drive projects and activities to successful conclusions.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and respond to requests in timely manner.
