As Senior Systems Analyst you will become part of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s HR IT team supporting Human Capital Management and Learning Management Systems. In this role the individual will plan, design, and implement efficient business and systems solutions in support of the human resource business processes. This includes gathering and analysing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. You will also be responsible for working closely with the business end-user community, internal IT staff, and external staff. This position has hands-on responsibility for system prototyping/ configuration, testing, and support.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and document business processes within existing Human Capital Management (HCM) system
  • Analyse system functionality with customer and identify gaps
  • Support and configure HR systems to meet the business requirements
  • Prepare written documentation - both functional and technical - for a wide variety of system analysis or specifications
  • Provide recommendations and assist to implement changes to existing business processes and HCM systems
  • Develop test procedures, test scenarios, and test cases; execute test scripts; and document and communicate the results
  • Interact and communicate with project team members to ensure the successful delivery and implementation of system updates and modifications into production
  • Assist project team in the processes and procedures related to the security accreditation of new or modified applications
  • Act as key liaison between business users and technical team to analyse business functional requirements and evaluate HR functionality to meet business needs
  • Solve helpdesk cases and provide answers/solutions for the implemented HR functions of personnel administration, organisation management, compensation management, and management self-service (MSS) and interfaces (inbound/ outbound)
  • Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team
  • Assess impact of change requests and provide work estimates
  • Participate in other cross-functional process improvement projects as necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience of Tier 1 Human Capital Management (HCM) system(s) and developing and configuring HR applications such as Personnel Administration, Organization Management, Compensation Management, Time Management and other HR capabilities (Performance Management, Benefits, Learning Management)
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience of project managing system changes from initial steps to completion
  • Knowledgeable of WORKDAY HCM system and its modules is required, but candidates with equivalent HCM system knowledge and experience will be considered
  • In-depth IT experience in support of human resource processes such as employee data management, organisational structure management
  • Detailed knowledge of systems development cycles and methodologies
  • Knowledge of integration points with Finance (FI) and other third party systems such as ADP or other Payroll systems, Recruiting and Onboarding, HR Service Delivery (Case Management, Knowledge base), Learning Management system, Active Directory, and Concur Expense system
  • Team-oriented individual who demonstrates initiative and leadership skills; ability to work independently
  • Excellent analytical skills, problem solving abilities, and the ability to quickly learn new areas
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Able to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
  • Self-motivated and driven with the ability to multi task
  • Logical and efficient; attention to detail; high energy/sense of urgency
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
