Job Description

Position Summary:

The Sr. Global Marketing Manager, Branding and Downstream Marketing will be responsible for the global downstream marketing activities and branding for the Thermo Fisher Scientific Clinical Diagnostics Niche product portfolio, including leading the development and execution of digital marketing strategies to deliver on the Business Unit’s sales and revenue goals.

The Sr. Global Marketing Manager will work closely with the product managers on branding and messaging, and will collaborate globally with commercial sales, training and upstream marketing on voice of the customer inputs, competitive intelligence and market trends to build robust marketing plans for the Niche product portfolio. The Sr. Global Marketing Manager will collaborate with global regional marketing partners to develop and deliver on aligned commercial strategies and drive consistency in branding and messaging. The Sr. Global Marketing Manager will directly supervise a Marketing Communications Specialist, who will be responsible for developing and delivering marketing materials to support the business.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for development and execution of downstream marketing strategies and tactics to achieve or exceed business unit goals and objectives
  • Lead downstream product marketing activities to be consistent globally and partner with regional marketing teams to ensure appropriate implementation of commercial strategies
  • Develop and execute digital marketing strategies across all digital channels from concept to launch, analysis and refinement
  • Manage day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of the website and digital marketing programs
  • Evaluate effectiveness of digital programs through metrics and analysis, and develop insights to inform strategies
  • EnsuDonere creation and delivery of compelling quality, timely marketing communications materials
  • Supervise, coach and mentor Marketing Communications Specialist
  • Work closely with the commercial marketing team, define and drive downstream execution of portfolio strategies and priorities for the global market segment
  • Work with global sales teams to develop commercial plans and launch plans in conjunction with Product Management, Training and Operations to meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Identify digital marketing trends and best practices, and serve as internal consultant on digital marketing
  • Develop market research to support products, analyze sales and market trends and synthesize results into relevant, actionable plans
  • Track competitive activities, proactively develop marketing campaigns and work closely with regional marketing partners to understand changing market dynamics
  • Develop and execute competitive strategies based on thorough market analysis
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key opinion leaders, customers, professional associations and advisory boards
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s Degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent work experience
  • Solid business acumen and knowledge of medical device / diagnostics or life sciences market environment required
  • Supervisory experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Downstream marketing experience required
  • Digital marketing experience required, including content generation, social media, website development and management, email, video, SEO/SEM, web analytics, Account Based Marketing, etc.
  • Proficient with marketing and sales automation tools and CRM reporting
  • Conscientious team player
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Adept at anticipating problems and recognizing opportunities
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Able to coach and supervise, guiding others in mastering new programs and tasks
  • Creative problem solver
  • Position may require domestic and global travel (35%)
