Job Description
Responsibilities

  • Conduct customer training and translate customer needs into workable solutions
  • Customer support and applications training post sales cycle and after instrument has been installed.
  • Technical product expert assisting with all phases of the development, sales and support cycle.
  • Provide continuous feedback to the product groups on system performance, features, and potential problems while collaborating with marketing/development groups on future product developments.
    • Liaison with R&D, TSG, PE, to develop, improve and perform written troubleshooting flows and methodology.
    • Work with customers on specific Application techniques to provide faster accurate data collection


The Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

  • Typically requires an advanced degree in Materials Science, Chemistry and or Physics with strong post academic background demonstrating expertise in critical microscopy application areas
  • Experience with demanding customers and understanding of the importance of customer relations and intimacy
  • Proven ability to interact with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
  • Excellent customer interfacing skills a must
  • 3 or more years’ experience in a relevant commercial/research establishment with recent experience utilizing SEM/SDB/TEM technology.
  • Knowledge of advanced technology diagnostics as well as fault finding techniques, operational optimization, and experience of analytical equipment; specifically transmission microscopes.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and in writing), other language skills are an asset
  • Conduct customer training and translate customer needs into workable solutions
  • Frequent travel (50%-80% of working time) and ability to travel both domestically internationally, possession of a valid passport.

The Competencies

The successful candidate will possess the following competencies:

Technical competencies;
Specialist skill level at 90% of all FEI product modules within the required (SEM, SDB, TEM) product platforms and their suitable use for scientific applications. Scientific knowledge at a senior level to enable active discussions with established researchers.

Communication Skills:
Communication with customers and the internal organization;
Excellent skills in listening and explaining. Able to influence and built solid relations with all levels of Customers and global internal relations (incl. Sr. level management). Is understanding and supporting of others. Able to set and create the right climate and to independently resolve (relational) problems with all levels of Customers.

Self Supportiveness:
The ability to work, resolve problems, initiate and decide without guidance is given;
performs and initiates very complex tasks and resolves very complex problems. Requires excellent judgment and thinking to develop solutions to complex problems with high impact on customer satisfaction and relation. Acts as an advisor and expert on complex problems to TAC and local FSE’s.

The ability to achieve results;
Drive for results and achievement of results are very high. Results are extremely critical for customer satisfaction and the relation with the customer. Decisions are made and corrective actions are taken when results are not achieved.
