Job Description

Job title: Field Service Engineer, Unity Lab Services
Location: Field based (ideally located near the M62 corridor)


Key Responsibilities:

Objectives
  • To enhance quality of service on defined range/s of equipment
  • Assess and report on product quality issues
  • Communicate with UK specialist to work together for overall product service improvements
  • Build relationship with staff at key account customers
  • Troubleshoot and complete repairs, installations and routine services where required
  • Give field accompaniment to new staff and mentor where possible.
  • Create sales leads while on site
  • Promote excellent on-site customer service and positively build customer survey results.

Records and Reporting
  • Adhere to all Company internal and ISO9000 / UKAS 17025 procedures
  • Create complaints when they are identified
  • Complete company reports using company in-field service software and forward daily work records to the office.
  • Monitor of engineer parts boot stock inventory consumption to optimize usage & accuracy of stock levels

Product and Company Knowledge
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of product ranges and services
  • Communicate product knowledge to core support teams

Market Knowledge
  • Be able to Identify product competitors working in the territory
  • Enhance Thermo service offerings to meet or exceed competition

Skills and Aptitudes:
  • Must live in relevant region
  • Full, clean driving license.
  • Electro/ mechanical qualification.
  • Relevant knowledge of defined ranges of laboratory products
  • Excellent communication skills..
  • Smart, professional appearance

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Electro/ mechanical qualification i.e. ONC/HNC/NVQ or equivalent
  • 3 - 7 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong E&M/Life Science industry engineering background &/or extensive scientific/ functional knowledge of product applications.
  • Must live in relevant region
