Position Summary:

The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for managing and executing large IT strategic and tactical projects with distributed global teams in a fast paced GxP environment. S/he must establish strong business and client relationships, work with business analysts and development teams, and have a demonstrated record of managing large complex projects from start to finish. This role also includes creating detailed project plans, managing conflicts, communicating status, and ensuring that tasks get completed on-time and in a quality manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex IT projects in support of Government and Commercial contracts as well as in-house initiatives for Fisher Bio Services within the BioPharma Services Division.
  • Responsible for managing medium and large projects impacting diverse functional areas, clients, and contracts and crossing multiple technologies/platforms across the division.
  • Deliver projects on-time, within budget, and in a quality manner.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, elicits cooperation from senior management, and influence cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
  • Work closely with: local and global quality assurance organizations to ensure alignment of SOPs and policies; corporate IT and divisional PMO office to utilize best practices across the division; and portfolio management and solution delivery organizations to ensure alignment of priorities.
  • Develop project justifications, business cases, and corresponding return on investment estimates for funding requests.
  • Communicate project status clearly and succinctly to senior management by delivering complex messages in business terms.
  • Pro-actively identify potential project risk factors, communicate these to the project team, and work with stakeholders to address them
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and drive results in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Liaise between the business and technology teams.
  • Comply with company‚Äôs Global IT Policies & Procedures.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 4 year Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent is preferred
  • Relevant project management certificates a plus (e.g. PMP, PMI, etc.)
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of demonstrated large, complex IT project management experience utilizing Microsoft Project or an equivalent tool.
  • Experience working in a GXP environment.
  • Experience in software project management utilizing traditional Waterfall or Agile Systems Development Lifecycle methodology.
  • Strong problem solving, negotiating, influencing, facilitation, organization, prioritization, decision making, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Self motivated and action orientated with a strong results and deliverables focus and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and follow up on issues with minimal direction.
  • Enhanced PC knowledge and skill sets utilizing Microsoft products
  • Experience preferred managing projects involving Computer System Validation

  • Demonstrated high level of project accountability and ownership from inception through completion
  • Strong attention to detail

Certificates and/or Licenses

  • Relevant project management certificates a plus (e.g. PMP, PMI, etc.)

Supervisory Responsibility

  • No direct reports
  • Responsible for influencing matrix project team members
  • Responsible for providing direction for contract resources on a project basis

Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
  • May be required to work after-hours and weekends as needed due to project demands
