The Comparator Key Account Manager is responsible for the acquisition and the growth of new clients and the development of existing client groups. This by providing comparator sourcing subject matter expertise and sourcing solutions on client projects and requests. Meeting these objectives includes the identification of opportunities, the formulation and the conduct of specific end-to-end strategies, and the implementation of tactics that primarily result in new sales while building long-term productive customer-supplier relationships.

Essential Duty and Responsibility:

  • Lead, develop and provide innovative end-to-end comparator sourcing solutions and strategies to clients
  • Identify new customers and gain new leads
  • Support growth of core-services with Comparator Business

Sourcing and Logistics:

  • Overall responsibility for developing and establishing an extensive, reliable and responsive sourcing network for pharmaceutical products to be used in clinical trials
  • Negotiate competitive prices with suppliers
  • Set up of supply agreements and contracts with suppliers
  • Ensure rapid and secure export/import of pharmaceutical products to be used in clinical trials
  • Establish and maintain good and long-standing contact/relationship with pharmaceutical distributors/wholesalers/manufacturers
  • Providing guidance for the right sourcing strategy for clinical trials

Communication with customers:

  • Designing customer and trial specific sourcing strategies
  • Pro-active interaction
  • Working closely with customers and new trials and
  • Manage quote requests and client special requests
  • Manage and identify customer expectations
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert for the FCS sales team in giving advisory support on sourcing strategy and providing timely and accurate information, especially around milestones that need to be kept to meet project timelines, as well as any questions or challenges related to the project
  • Lead and provide business support to client specific team(s) to insure end-to-end customer satisfaction and accuracy
  • Coordination and communication of all relevant activities related to comparator projects with sourcing in EU and ROW
  • Build upon and maintain existing customer base through Customer Service, frequent client interaction and technical expertise
  • Work closely with the account managers to gain overall customer satisfaction
  • Facilitate client contracts, CDA’s, MSA’s and Technical Agreements
  • Foster clear communication of multi-sites projects and among business lines

Others:

  • Apply Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility

  • Attend/present at trade shows / exhibitions, workshops and seminars
  • Conduct market research and trend analysis reporting for all assigned and prospective accounts Monitor and communicate client pipelines to senior management
  • Track and communicate job win / loss ratios & pursuit metrics for all assigned accounts. Identify and recommend solutions to address client loss scenarios
  • Monitoring the global pharmaceutical market (Trends, Challenges, Mergers etc)
  • Assist Managing Director in business planning and reporting

Education/ Experience (BMQ):

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7-10+ Years Minimum Experience within Pharmaceutical Industry or equivalent
  • Experience in commercial/clinical pharmaceutical supply chain of advantage
  • Experience within EU and ROW

Add’l preferences:

  • Familiarity with trading of pharmaceuticals of advantage

Ability and/or Skills:

  • High Level of Business Acumen in both Administration and Business Strategies
  • Interpersonal Skills Surrounding Client Interactions
  • Organizational Skill Set
  • Proficiency with MS Office / Adobe Products
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving skills and exercises good judgment and appropriate discretion when reaching conclusions.
