Position Summary:
We are searching for a Field Staff Scientist that will lead the commercial success of new products from lead identification to product demonstration, along with work with regional sales team members, to identify and qualify sales leads and conduct pre-sales technical presentations. Share in responsibility with the sales team to exceed quota for new products.

Responsibilities:

• Commercial success of new products from lead identification to product demonstration
• Become the commercial technical expert on new product introductions
• Work independently, and in conjunction, with regional sales team members, to identify and qualify sales leads and conduct pre-sales technical presentations. Share in responsibility with the sales team to exceed quota for new products.
• Identify gaps in commercial process for new product introductions and drive rapid mediation
• Execute the customer demonstrations and map the requirements for success
• Deliver on-site customer support to provide start-up training and technical assistance
• Partner with R&D and marketing to develop comprehensive training materials for transfer of knowledge to the broader team
• Establish collaborative relationships with key partners to develop customer champions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a life science scientific field is required.
• 5 years’ experience in the life science or bioprocess industry with a focus on Quality and Safety Testing and/or Analytical Development supporting Biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Experience in development or implementation of products utilizing one or more of the following: CE, UPLC, Mass Spec, liquid handling automation and robotics platforms. A background in cGMP testing requirements would be a plus.
Domestic travel 50-75% with occasional international travel.

Preferred Qualifications:


• An advanced degree in business or science is preferred.
• 5 years’ experience in the life science or bioprocess industry with a focus on Quality and Safety Testing and/or Analytical Development supporting Biopharmaceutical manufacturing with 2 years of commercial experience
• Possess the ability to effectively communicate value propositions and technical information to customers and internal audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a global matrix environment
