HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
This is a global position to enhance the value of the product portfolios with the development and implementation of new product growth plans, branding and channel management and marketing campaigns for the Laboratory Products Division. The role is responsible for overall product line strategy, goals and growth initiatives, including knowledge of the global market segments, trends in the market both customer and economic, competitive assessments, 3-5 year product plans, new product proposals and specs to meet the goals, close teamwork with R&D and multi-functional teams to develop targeted products, global commercial launch actions, and monitoring of the product line situation including price, profit, quality and availability.

WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO:
Product Life Cycle Management

• Develop the positioning strategy of all products and services considering price, volume, share and profitability.
• Lead cross-functional new product development teams and all product management aspects associated with product definition, product development, pricing, market introduction, sales tools, and promotion plans.
• Ensure assigned products are responsive to market needs, drive continuous improvements where needed to maintain and/or improve market share.
• Monitor and assess competitive products / programs and develop and implement proactive strategies to strengthen the product line’s competitive edge.
• Evaluate assigned products for obsolescence and communicate recommendations
• Provide forecasting input for Supply Chain / production purposes
• Ensure quality issues are resolved

Product Planning
• Conduct market research and voice of customer VOC, validate data to drive decisions on development of product plans and new opportunities.
• Lead projects to evaluate and provide growth direction to leverage market trends

Product Line Performance
• Analyze, monitor and report on the financial performance of the portfolio: sales trends, market pricing trends, price-volume trends
• Work with Commercial Managers to create and adjust promotional activities for pipeline and sales growth
• Lead the development, in cooperation with the Commercial Managers, to execute training events
• Lead all product management activities and champion cross-functional activities to maximize overall product line performance including revenue growth, margin improvement, cost reduction, quality and delivery.
• Establish product positioning recommendations and guidance in the development of strategic marketing plans and programs
• Analyze, interpret, and report out monthly management reports in regards to product sales activity to budget, programs, market and channel trends and competition
• This role will include key support of a major international OEM partner

Market Research and Competitive Intelligence
• Conduct research, interpret and maintain relevant market data and competitive intelligence.
• Generating competitive product analyses and inform development processes to aid in developing winning products.
• Synthesize conclusions from such research to communicate key findings to other key stakeholders and drive action.

Marketing Communications
• Support the marketing communications team to develop appropriate collateral .
• Work collaboratively with the Marketing Communications to develop appropriate E Commerce sales plans and promotions
.
Training
• Develops materials for the assigned products and leads or supports training programs. Deliver training in person or via remote technology
• Specify, plan, and participate in industry conferences and exhibitions.


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
• Minimum of a BS or BA with an MBA or advanced degree highly preferred. BS degree in Biology, Bioscience, Business or Engineering
• 5 years’ experience in product planning and product life-cycle management including experience with stage-gate processes.
• Prior Marketing or Product Management experiences, international experiences a major plus
• Ability to conduct financial analyses, develop financial models and interpret P&L statements.
• Experience in developing and launching new products.
• Strong technical capabilities consistent with market segment
• Experience working with customers, commercial teams and varied sales channels including Tier 1 and Tier 2 distributors and direct. Strong communications skills
• Travel estimated at 30% of time, global. .
• Proven ability to influence and lead convincingly, to drive cross-functional teams to success in challenging and ambiguous situations. Experienced working in a matrixed organization.
• Demonstrated ability to question the status quo and drive change successfully.

The role can be located either in the Northeast USA or UK (Europe), near a major airport. This is a remote position.
