Working hours: 35 hours per week including an early finish on Fridays

Role Overview:
Working within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Speciality Diagnostic Group, within the Microbiology Division (MBD), we’re looking for somebody who wants to continue building a strong financial career within a global organisation that enables individuals to reach their best through continuous challenges and expansive opportunities. The successful candidate will work within the Commercial Finance team as a Senior Commercial Finance & RFP Analyst providing analysis & support for the division’s large global tenders and also EMEA business finance support and challenge to all commercial functions, driving better decisions and ultimately maximizing revenue growth.
This position is a strategic role on the Commercial Finance team and is responsible for reporting and analysis to support the Microbiology Division Finance, Sales and Marketing teams.

This position is a strategic role on the Commercial Finance team and is responsible for reporting and analysis to support the Microbiology Division Finance, Sales and Marketing teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner with Sales Managers & Corporate Account Managers from the global Commercial Sales teams on new business tenders and existing business re-quotes. This involves extraction of data from Cognos &/or Access, & using this to develop & adapt relevant excel models to provide a solid financial case and analysis to ensure optimum pricing & margins decisions.
- Develop reporting to track Revenue of Group Purchasing Organisations (GPOs) & large global accounts vs AOP & vs tender commitments, providing variance explanations to Finance leadership & Commercial VP.
- Partner with the Marketing & Product Management teams to produce NPV analysis for new products & track the success of marketing campaigns.
- Support the EMEA Commercial Finance & Global RFP Manager to build the annual revenue AOP & regular forecasts with the provision of Global & Large value accounts information.
- Support the EMEA finance team with monthly and quarterly close & forecasts process as required.
- Documentation and validation of business critical processes.
- Drive continuous improvement (PPI) activity in area of responsibility.
- Provide support to the Commercial organization as assigned.
- Play an active role in key projects as the need arises.
- Work on other ad hoc tasks as required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with non-finance people
- Previous experience of working closely with commercial functions and being able to demonstrate results delivery through those relationships
- The candidate should have the ability to manage multiple assignments, has good judgment and prioritizes projects and time effectively. A strong intellect, drive, analytical skills, communication skills are all expected in this role.
- Strong problem solving, data analysis and teamwork skills are essential
- Either already a professionally qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) or a desire to study for qualification
- Undergraduate degree or higher
- Desire for career advancement within Thermo Fisher
- Excellent skills with MS Excel, MS Access
- Working experience of Cognos BI, SAP and Hyperion all advantageous
