We design, manu­facture, and support the broadest range of high-performance microscopy workflows that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales for the electronics, life sciences, and materials science markets. We are growing our talented Mechanical Engineering team as we develop new innovative, automated solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design of highly customized, multi-million dollar microscopes and subsystems with sub-nanometer resolution by working closely with, and learning from, world class Marketing, Project Management, Operations, suppliers, and engineers and scientists of diverse backgrounds.
    • Develop and manage engineering requirements and specifications.
    • Make and meet project cost, schedule, and quality commitments.
    • Concept, layout, and detail designs with analysis and testing as appropriate.
    • Manage suppliers and contract or junior engineers.
    • Module integration, validation, and troubleshooting.
    • Support module and product transitions to production.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for precision mechanical systems and semiconductor capital equipment, providing key technical feedback and decision making.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer with at least 5 years leading the design and manufacture of semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Precision machine design including wafer or parts handling, robotics, exact constraint design.
  • Automation, error budgeting, tolerance analysis, materials selection, and formal problem solving techniques.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced technical degrees
  • Detail design, including a strong familiarity with manufacturing techniques and capabilities, internal and external standards, GD&T, and design for manufacturability.
  • Some combination of experience with vacuum, motion, contamination, charged particle optics, high voltage, vibration, thermal, and stress analysis.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD and PDM systems
