The role of the Sr. Sales Manager of Chromatography is to manage and ensure the team’s success as part of the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division within the Midwest region. This includes direct supervision, development and training of the field sales team within the region, as well as responsibility for problem account management, coordinated order bookings, expenses, and customer satisfaction.

  • Manage and direct the activities of all field sales representatives.
  • Meet or exceed the Regional order-booking budget.
  • Ensure that the sales team customer satisfaction objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Implement all field sales policies and procedures with regards to resource management, account maintenance and management, and Sales operation.
  • Resolve problem customer accounts with the timely and efficient use of regional resources to include local Service support (i.e. managers and reps) and the Division’s resources such as product support, applications, marketing and engineering.
  • Ensure accuracy of customer database and reliability statistics.
  • Establish and implement regional business plan on an annual basis.
  • Develop and manage subordinate’s careers for future growth via knowledge, skills and attitudes.
  • Independently negotiate sales contracts for single and multiple institutions as the needs dictate.
  • Lead/participate in project teams as identified to improve business performance

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years successful field sales experience or related experience.
  • Strong technical experience with various types of chromatography instruments
  • Solid understanding of the chromatography market place including competitor products
  • Proven ability to work/understand corporate culture.
  • Ability to perform consistently under pressure.
  • Customer focused approach
  • Strong understanding of sales financials and forecasting accuractely.
  • Must be able to travel 50-60% overnight within the territory
  • Territory is primarily comprised of IL, IN, MI, WI, MN, IA, and MO

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ yrs of experience of people management experience preferred or increasing responsibility demonstrating solid leadership skills.
