The Mission

The FEI Human Resources team partners with the Organization to proactively develop and drive people processes which attract, develop, retain and reward high performance, giving FEI a competitive edge in our markets.

The Position

This position will support various HR department disciplines through strategic and tactical projects requiring independent analytical thinking and judgment, client facing skills, and the ability to develop outstanding written communications, coordinating activities between departments and outside parties, troubleshooting administrative problems, recommending solutions and developing administrative procedures and methods. Work is generally of a confidential nature.

Specific deliverables of this position include:
  • Anticipates and prepares material needed for meetings, and conference calls which may include the draft setup and/or typing of letters, memos, meeting agendas, reports.
  • Manages employee communications and integration procedures.
  • Manages vendor relationships, negotiations and invoice processing.
  • Processes employee data entry into HRIS, including new hire entry, status changes, notifications, etc.
  • Processes paperwork for functional area according to established procedures. Implements, tracks and maintains department documentations and filing systems, including employee file creation and maintenance.
  • Reviews and verifies incoming and outgoing HR documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Administers human resources policies and procedures that cover two or more functional areas. Resolves or assists in the resolution of policy-related, process-related, and procedural problems and/or inquiries received from employees and/or supervisors.
  • Collects and analyzes detailed HR data, then converts into interpretive reports for Management. Coordinates collection and preparation of operating reports and statistical reports or performance data. Creates and maintains various department reports in Excel. Compiles complex reports, dynamic presentations, charts and graphs.
  • Conducts special research for department requiring independent analysis and judgment. Performs specific investigations/research into operational issues, as requested. Performs project work related to ongoing HR initiatives.


The Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:
  • Typically requires a University degree 2-7 years of experience in a professional level administrative role, ideally with experience supporting Human Resources functions.
  • Works at a high level of proficiency with the HRIS system(SAP and Workday preferred), computer software programs, and manual filing system. Requires intermediate to Advanced computer skills (e.g.; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Databases).
  • Excellent written communication skills. Ability to create, composes, and edits written materials.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community utilizing the appropriate degree of tact and professionalism. Well developed negotiation skills are required.
  • Knowledge of basic human resources practices, laws, and regulations.
  • Ability to grasp concepts and be creative.
  • Able to deal with unusual or unexpected issues. Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality.
