Job Description

We are looking for a Product Specialist to manage and promote our Life Science Mass Spectometry (LSMS) solutions throughout the ANZ region. Operating in a highly competitive market environment, you will have responsibility for pipelining accuracy, marketing activities, presentations, demonstrations, increasing market share and achieving annual sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Increase the presence of our LSMS solutions throughout the defined territory, working alongside the Asia Pacific LSMS team, the Global Partner Alliance, and multiple Thermo Fisher divisions
  • Sell LSMS solutions in the defined territory, both directly and alongside partners, in defined markets and industries
  • Prepare business plans for the territory
  • Proactively manage a defined territory and grow pipeline of opportunities
  • Develop business plans and strategies to support revenue goals
  • Co-ordinate with Thermo Fisher sales teams to ensure business growth and to ensure execution upon sales and account strategies
  • Provide regular, detailed forecasting to sales management
  • Utilise Salesforce.com CRM for managing accounts, opportunities and leads and for monitoring business health
  • Understands the generic strengths and vulnerabilities of major competitors and develops sales strategies to respond effectively
  • Ensure that the account plans and sales activities are consistent with overall business goals
  • Collaborate across the business to implement appropriate strategies to address opportunities and overcome obstacles
  • Work with sales executives from across the business to identify cross-selling opportunities, best practices and leverage “One Thermo Fisher”

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Post-Graduate qualification in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in complex Instrumentation Solution solutions sales, with a focus on Mass Spectrometry

  • Sufficient technical and business knowledge to present a compelling value proposition to prospects and customers
  • Utilizes regional resources to ensure they are properly leveraged relative to deal closure, probability and opportunity size
  • Experience in managing the contract review process and negotiation
