Job Title: Instrument Sales Representative, CMD
Reports To: LSMS Sales Manager, Nordic region
Group/Division: AIG/LSMS/CMD
Location: Sweden, Stockholm area

The Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD), is based out of Hägersten, a suburb to Stockholm, Sweden. CMD in Sweden has some 50 employees based in various functions in Sales, Sales & Support and Technical service including back office functions. CMD in Sweden is responsible for the Swedish, Norwegian and Finish markets. The company also have very close relationships with colleagues within the corresponding CMD operations in the Nordic region as well as to colleagues from all the other parts Thermo Scientific Scientific in Sweden.

Job Purpose:

Sales and promotion of the company products in Sweden.

Close connections with all other colleagues in the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) teams are vital ingredients in maximizing performance and secure customer satisfaction. In order to fully benefit from the overall breath of product offerings and to ensure the full potential of synergy effects, close contacts with all sales colleagues in the region and key account group are equally important.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for identifying business opportunities to the Thermo Scientific CMD portfolio and services to customers in Sweden. This is the essential part of the role and will require a high level of an advanced understanding for business development and Analytical/Chromatographic experience to qualify customer needs.
  • Expands market share for Thermo Fisher Scientific CMD LSMS Portfolio in Sweden, working closely with colleagues in the Nordic CMD sales and support team.
  • Build strong connections and relationships across the entire organization of customer accounts ranging from end user to management.
  • To negotiate contracts and close orders
  • Maintain and regularly enter accurate and complete customer data and sales project information into the company CRM system (SalesForce.Com).
  • Provide accurate timely sales forecasts to sales management
  • Be able to clearly identify and interpret customer’s requirements and align those to Thermo Fisher Scientific capabilities. Apply Thermo Fisher Scientific solutions to the customer needs and effectively communicate these to end users.
  • Exchange Account Information and Sales Leads within and across Thermo Fisher Scientific commercial divisions
  • Actively attend Swedish and Nordic trade shows, user meetings, seminars and other customer facing events.
  • Be prepared to discuss business forecasts and growth opportunities in Sweden with regional sales management.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with peers in the Sales, Sales / Support, and Technical service and colleagues in the back office teams to at all times ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction with our products and services.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed order bookings objectives.

Education and Experience
  • BSc level qualification in a scientific discipline preferably Chemistry
  • Relevant experience in a sales or marketing environment be it capital analytical equipment sales/marketing or a consumables type environment. Alternatively a candidate with no sales experience but someone with a strong commercial awareness and a good knowledge of Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry would be considered.
  • A broad familiarity of the following industries: Clinical, Pharma/Biotech, Environmental, Industrial
  • Good understanding for key account management
  • Experience with Business development and Cold calls
  • Ability to identify new target accounts each year and be able to develop and execute territory plans.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Minimum of a Degree level qualification in a scientific discipline preferably Chemistry
  • The ability to work on own initiative and to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • A good level of knowledge in the English language, both written and oral.
  • A good level of interpersonal, motivational and organizational skills
  • Must reside within assigned Territory
  • Ability to travel
  • Holder of driving license valid for Sweden
  • Travel 50 %, must reside within assigned territory
