Position Title – Enterprise Monitoring Engineer
Job Location - Bangalore

Position Summary
Responsible for Enterprise Monitoring, which includes participating in the design, configuration, development, integration, testing, implementation, documentation, and support of monitoring infrastructure environments. Will contribute to the monitoring configuration and maintenance utilizing the HP suite of monitoring products such as HP Operations Manager (OpenView), BSM, SiteScope, NNMi, BPM, and HP SIM. The Monitoring Engineer will be responsible for the monitoring of applications, and infrastructure in the cloud, and/or on premise, ensuring high quality, and timely alerts, and notifications.
Play an integral role in implementing, and supporting, a long term, global, monitoring strategy which may employ new, and current corporate monitoring products and/or support structure. Must be a creative thinker who can develop cost effective monitoring solutions and develop solid processes in order to avoid service interruptions and reduce MTTR.
Must be a self-starter who will interact with different groups at all levels with minimum supervision.

Job Skills/Experience
  • 5+ years professional experience required in an IT environment
  • 2+ years’ experience with business requirements gathering/analysis
  • Experience participating in large, global, multi-tool, multi-platform enterprise monitoring implementations/integration projects
  • Strong communication skills
  • Maintain several complex projects simultaneously
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
Must have experience working with the following products:
  • HP Operations Manager (OpenView)
  • Business Service Management (BSM)
  • Business Process Monitor (BPM)
  • Scripting with Virtual User Generator (VuGen)SiteScope
  • Amazon CloudWatchNetwork Node Manager (NNMi)

Ideally have experience working with the following products:
  • AppDynamics, Dynatrace
  • SolarWinds, Zenoss
  • Nagios, NetIQ, Tivoli, CA UniCenter or other monitoring products
  • EMC ECC, Oracle OEM
  • Splunk, ArcSight
Job Knowledge
  • Expert in the collection of various performance metrics, and producing reports
  • Expertise in scripting using a variety of tools e.g. Perl, Shell, Python, PowerShell, VBS
  • Expertise in monitoring, identifying, and analyzing issues
  • Exposure to working in UNIX, Windows, and Linux environments
  • Experience of eCommerce, Middleware and/or ERP applications would advantageous
