A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Service Sales Representative to join Thermo Fisher Scientific in a newly created sales role.

Offering Thermo Fisher Services and Support products, you will utilise your strong language and sales skills to sell a full range of high value solutions to our Customers in the whole of EMEA mainly through email and telephone sales with occasional site visits. You will create annual and quarterly plans that will meet and exceed individual and revenue growth targets year on year and operate as part of a strong and highly motivated team.
For this you will be compensated with a competitive package based on a fixed base salary and uncapped quarterly commission. You will be responsible for:
Selling Contract Renewals for small instruments Selling Out of Warranty contracts for small instruments Upselling to existing contract customers Generating new business from non-contract customers Selling Multiple Dynamic Temp Verification Services Selling Single Point Services Selling Instrument upgrades Executing on Planned Promotions Promoting and Selling a Portfolio of New Services (Training Courses, Bioinformatics Services Compliance Services)
Works together with other Services Sales reps to optimise the sales of small contracts, upgrades and new business in EMEA. Gathers competitor information to share with colleagues and is able to discuss customer workflows and relate customer’s work to potential services the customer may need to be successful. Develops and maintains detailed customer/prospect records and ensures that the relevant sales tools reflect this information (e.g Sales Forecast & Territory Plan). Keeps all sales tools up to date and accurate to reflect the current sales situation.
Accurately forecasts future business on a regular basis, or at the request of the Sales Manager. Starts negotiations early by planning activities well ahead and involves relevant colleagues. Makes best use of sales tools to aid territory planning and ensures that all necessary resources are used in order to close sales in favour of the company.
- 2 years B2B telephone sales experience could be an advantage
- Strong sales, communication and relationship building skills
- Strong analytical skills to assess and prioritise opportunities and develop sales forecasts
- Solid organisational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
To enable quality customer discussions, the right candidate will have a science degree in Biotechnology/Biology or related science field. Excellent language skills in English, French and German, written and spoken.
Location & Reporting Line
Will be based in our Darmstadt office and report directly to the Services Sales Manager Central Region.
