Position Summary
The PPI (Practical Process Improvement) Business System Manager is responsible for enabling PPI Business System maturity within the Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry (LSMS) Business Unit (BU). These functions include; manufacturing operations, engineering, customer service, supply chain, finance, human resources and sales & marketing. The PPI Business System Manager will work with the LSMS leadership teams to achieve significant improvements across a balanced scorecard with a focus on Customer Allegiance, Quality and Productivity. This position has a direct responsibility to the LSMS leadership team to assist in defining and executing strategies that leverage the PPI Business System to drive continuous improvement and profitable growth.

Responsibilities:
- In alignment with the Divisional PPI Business System Strategic Roadmap, Corporate Implementation Framework and the LSMS annual strategic plan, develop the annual LSMS specific PPI Business System strategic roadmap and lead implementation
- In conjunction with the Senior PPI Business System Manager, LSMS Steering Committee, Divisional PPI Business System Director and Corporate PPI team, successfully execute the LSMS PPI Business System strategic roadmap
- Work closely with the LSMS leadership team to identify ways to accelerate culture change and embed the PPI Business System as a ‘way-of-life’ within LSMS
- Partner with other BU PPI Business System Managers to manage and support cross-BU improvement activity
- Conduct training events in areas such as lean leadership, value stream mapping, kaizen blitz, waste and variation elimination, material flow, 5S, visual management, lean sourcing, lean office, built-in quality, 3P etc.
- Identify best practices within and outside the company, and serve as a conduit for best-practice sharing
- Challenge organizational leaders as necessary to create an action-biased culture of continuous improvement and proliferate PPI and Lean thinking throughout the organization
- Partner with Finance personnel to evaluate project savings estimates, validate reported PPI benefits, and ensure accurate accounting of PPI Productivity
- Facilitate Kaizen events to improve productivity and accelerate growth
- Participate in reporting processes as part of the LSMS Management Operating System; Champion, track, measure and report on PPI savings and PPI Business System maturity monthly
- May periodically be assigned specific projects within LSMS or across the company, which align with the LSMS strategic plan and company goal tree objectives
- Coaches and mentors PPI teams to ensure project success.
- Must be comfortable in communicating and facilitating change using change management techniques.
