Job Description

Program Manager HID, EMEA is responsible for ensuring the successful planning, design, execution, and delivery of portfolio of Human identification projects according to predetermined timelines and budgets. The HID team has ongoing large-scale infrastructure and scientific projects in Middle East, Africa and Russia/CIS. The HID program manager will work with multiple departments in Thermo Fisher Scientific organisation and diverse HID customers to develop and deliver a best in class professional services.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Manager will also carry out traditional management of multiple projects either directly or via regional Project Managers
  • Outlining objectives, planning execution, managing operations, and reporting on the status of different Human Identification projects
  • Plans, organise, coordinates different regional and divisional teams around project executions according to priority and urgency
  • Creating and executing work plans to meet changing needs and requirements, including full-scale project plans, strategic plans, and action plans
  • Identifying resource needs, and track individual responsibilities, including budgeting, deliverables and timelines
  • Performing risk management to minimize project risks
  • Prepares stakeholder reviews and quality assurance, including milestones and scope changes, presenting both problems and solutions
  • Purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment and supplies from vendors
  • Building Service Level Agreements and commercial relationships with suppliers.
  • Monitoring and managing vendor/product performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Build out a comprehensive program to deliver the required infrastructure (laboratory set up, IT and bioinformatics software, LIMS, validation and training program and implementation pieces of a scalable HID workflow solution for forensic laboratories at a National level.
  • On a daily basis, work closely with customers, product owners, and project leads to coordinate product and solution implementation timelines and track key metrics associated with deliverables.
  • Partner closely with ISO 17025 / regulatory, Legal, Customer Services, Manufacturing, HID business/Product Management, R&D colleagues at Thermo Fisher Scientific to develop and manage the delivery of multiple informatics and software solutions to customers.
  • Building and Implementation of Program management tools to assess and manage risks in a proactive manner.
  • Coordinate meetings and communications with stakeholders internally and externally.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience Required:
  • Experience in project management, and experience in forensics, genetics or genomics a plus
  • B.A. in business or natural sciences, or a related field
  • Expertise in use of Microsoft Project and other corporate tools to manage programs
  • Must have demonstrated excellent ability to interface with customers and internal teams in both product and enabling services departments, and be able to work cross-functionally through many teams to execute goals
  • Must have experience managing complex projects across multiple stakeholder groups, and have demonstrated team building and people management skills in a complex environment
  • Willing to work in a fast paced, competitive environment
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25%-50%
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, risk management, and analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge & experience of procurement processes and supplier management
  • Understand purchasing policies and procedures
  • Understanding procedures and requirements and change control (FDA, GMP, etc.) is a PLUS
  • Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment and supplies from vendors
  • Comprehensive MRP knowledge and ERP experience in a manufacturing environment
  • PMI or PMP or other professional project management certification is a major asset
