Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Develop, implement and lead problem solving initiatives throughout the business
- A role model leader for the PPI Business System
- Live the company values and promote the site and company purpose
Process Assessment, Mapping & Analysis
- Monitor, map and analyse key processes and /or equipment performance
- Set up of work cells including, one piece flow, work balancing and development of clear work instructions
- Benchmark and evaluate alternate processes in the pursuit of enhanced process performance
- Develop and facilitate implementation of innovative actions for improvement in conjunction with core business and support staff
- Monitor and document continuous improvement activities
Waste Reduction
- Initiates and implement waste reduction activities and improvements based on current key processes indicators in conjunction with department leaders and staff
- Prepare and report on cost analysis, ROI, and other financial indicators in conjunction with cost analyst and wider finance team members
Training and Coaching Role
- Facilitation and support of the delivery of the “Practical Process Improvement Business System” training program across the UK organization
- Provide training and coaching to staff in improvement tools, techniques and approaches
Office Management
- To undertake ad hoc duties as directed and agreed with the Operational Excellence Director
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Engineering or Technical discipline
- Demonstrable experience of process improvement gained within an Engineering / Technical role (Motor / Medical Device / Pharmaceutical preferred)
- Knowledge of GMP, FDA , ISO regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication skills including written , oral and presentation skills
- Must demonstrate ability to work as an effective team member and demonstrate the ability to lead improvement teams
- Highly self motivated, with the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback aimed at improving and promoting quality, cost, safety and delivery
- Some travel may be required
- LSS Green Belt
Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:
- BSc in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Hands on experience gained within an engineering / maintenance environment
- Lean Six Sigma implementation / execution experience essential
- Must possess proven analytical, influencing and problem resolution skills
- Computer literate (Microsoft office)
