Job Description
This is a great opportunity for a Life Science Sales Specialist with strong drive for genomic analysis to join our team, managing the NSW / ACT Systems territory. Join a dynamic driven team looking to make a difference through supporting science.
Application knowledge / understanding in Sequencing (next generation and Sanger/CE sequencing), Real time PCR, Gene Expression, Genotyping and Microarray are key to success. Also desirable is a knowledge of Flow Cytometry and Sample Extraction.
Responsibilities
- Develop the Systems (large instrumentation and accompanying consumables) business and drive uptake with customers across NSW/ACT through existing and new customer development to meet set sales targets
- Build deep customer relationships with key customers to create strong business partnerships, make regular daily customer calls; travel required to NSW/ACT accounts
- Use territory plans to maximise your impact, focus your territory development and develop Key Accounts that will contribute significantly to your sales growth
- Identify and develop new business opportunities working with your District Manager to meet customer needs and achieve set targets
- Respond to enquiries and solve challenges to look after your customers and reinforce the company’s value position
- Prospect for new business through various means including the attendance at Trade Exhibitions, technology seminars, customer promotions
- Actively take part in internal product training and the external scientific community activities to develop own skill set and network
- Develop strategies to drive sales potential in your territory through collaborations with marketing, application support, service, and other colleagues across the organisation
- Obtain and report information of market trends, competitive promotions and other activities from the market that may aid the sales and marketing activity
Requirements
Experience and Education
- Educated to B.Sc. level or above in the Life Sciences
- Strategic selling and Market Development ability
- Well-developed communication (written and verbal) skills
- Organisational and Time Management skills
- Professional presentation
- Self-management
Desirable Skills
- Masters or PhD educated
- At least 5 years sales experience
- Strategic and Tactical Market development skills
- Presentation skills that can be utilised internally and in the marketplace
- Experience selling capital equipment
