We are seeking a Director of Marketing to lead a Divisional marketing team that will transform how we develop and execute short and long term organic, global growth strategies, through a matrix reporting structure. This exciting role will be an influential part of the team that develops and delivers a novel customer experience to both delight our customers and increase the impact of our marketing initiatives for the Laboratory Products Division (LPD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific.
The Director of Marketing will partner with the Business Unit Market Development Directors and their cross functional teams to develop and execute growth strategies and solution based customer programs that include multiple Laboratory Products and/or customer segments. This leader will also drive the marketing effectiveness of all cross divisional marketing campaigns and activities to harmonize and focus the campaign deliverables to ensure measurable impact. The position works closely with Marketing Stakeholders, Sales and Customers, as needed, to deliver world class solutions and exceed the Business Units revenue and EBITA growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Achieve LPD annual revenue goals and marketing expense budget
• Work closely with the VP of Market Development, BU VP/GM and other senior marketing leaders to define a vision for Division market growth, design Division growth strategies to actively pursue new market opportunities and develop marketing plans to grow the business globally.
• Lead the creation and implementation of focused and prioritized growth strategies for the business unit working collaboratively with marketing and product colleagues.
• Lead the work in a matrix environment to deliver customer centric global marketing programs and tools that are differentiated and provide increased, measurable value to targeted customer segments, aligned to Division’s growth strategies. (Examples – device connectivity and cloud enablement, customer loyalty programs, Ecommerce, Increased Distributor Satisfaction and Engagement processes and programs.)
• Coordinate operating mechanisms (generally team meetings – quarterly portfolio and campaign reviews, face to face meetings) across the division to ensure alignment and visibility, promote best practices, and communicate and feedback with divisional marketing, BU marketing and regional marketing and channel partners.
• The role will work closely with the marketing community on key initiates to enhance business and marketing performance. These could include projects to optimize marketing processes (for example, marketing channels such as email or tradeshows).
• May act as a consultant and advocate for the Division perspective with the Company’s marketing initiatives (for example CRM council, marketing automation, brand awareness market research).
• Owns the Division’s campaign goals and objectives. Reviews and revises programs to maximize member adoption and program utilization.
• Accountable to achieve KPI targets as mutually established with the business and regularly reports to Executive and Senior Management on target performance
• Coordinate with global functions to ensure consistency with brand profiles and company standards.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• At least 10 years in a marketing role that includes demonstrated experience, successfully implementing marketing plans across channels.
• Experience successfully implementing digital and ecommerce programs, internet/device connectivity solutions and customer loyalty programs is valuable.
• Working knowledge of marketing infrastructure systems such as CRMs, marketing databases, and project management software.
• Experience in marketing in a highly technical field or scientific environment is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business desired. Background in Biology, Biochemistry or related discipline is a plus. M.B.A. preferred
