Position Summary: Position is a subject matter expert for setup, breakdown and troubleshooting of equipment as well as for filling and packaging chemical solution products and accessories using documentation and bills of materials. Position receives day to day direction from a Group Leader and reports to the Value Stream Manager.
Principal Duties/Responsibilities
- Make safety the number one priority on the production floor, every day.
- Voice any and all safety concerns as they arise and drive to root cause to eliminate them in the future.
- Follow documented procedures for all steps in the filling, labeling and packaging processes.
- Aid the Team Leader in daily scheduling of packaging operations, including daily standup meetings prior to shift start as well as coordinating changes in the schedule based on capacity or solution availability.
- Manually fill and cap bottles of laboratory solutions in accordance specified volumes via gravity fill or semi-automated pumps.
- Set up and breakdown the manual filling process including but not limited to setting up pumps, cleaning lines and cleaning tanks after fill. Inspect bottles and any packaging for defects.
- Set up and break down labeling machines and label manually-filled bottles.
- Run bottling line during large volume filling processes.
- This includes monitoring of various bottling line equipment such as: bottle hopper and unscrambler, fill station and pumps, capper, induction sealers, re-torque machine, labeler, printer, rotary and conveyors.
- Set up and break down the bottling line equipment before and after each run, including daily cleanings and regular maintenance.
- Perform changeovers on all bottling line equipment to switch from one bottle size to another bottle size.
- Troubleshoot areas of the bottling line and specific pieces of equipment if they display inconsistent quality in the bottles; including but not limited to inconsistent fill volume, poor seal, incorrect alignment of band seal applicator, etc.
- Setup, monitor and changeover pouch sealing machine.
- Improve overall equipment efficiency by implementing permanent corrective actions following process failures or basic adjustments.
- Be accountable to own and improve daily metrics such as OEE and yield rates.
- Package various materials for shipment; including but not limited to solutions, tubing kits and other accessories.
- Print labels or bill of materials out of SAP in preparation of packaging jobs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment in line with 5S methodology.
- Wear appropriate PPE; including but not limited to safety shoes and safety glasses.
- Respirator protection will be required at times pending successful health evaluation and fit testing (less than 10% of job).
- Work with engineering and provide feedback on new procedures.
- May have the opportunity to author procedures around the process.
- Assist in new equipment implementation (procedures, train technicians, etc.)
- Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and all appropriate regulations (ISO)
- Willing to flex to other area and follow business need.
- Other related duties as assigned.

- Must be able to multi task. It will be required that the individual oversee multiple processes on the bottling line or around the manufacturing area simultaneously and in a safe manner.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Preferred flexible hours between 6 am and 4 pm. Typically an 8 hour shift is scheduled 7AM-3:30PM with potential for occasional overtime.
- Must be dressed with proper PPE and ready by 7am.
Qualification for Position
Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Experience :
- Minimum four(4) years in a manufacturing or environment relevant experience is preferred
- Prior experience with shift scheduling or equipment up time monitoring
