Title: Strategic Marketing Specialist, Proteomics
Location: San Jose, Ca

Job Summary:
You will have the opportunity to assist in the development of marketing strategies for the life sciences mass spectrometry business in proteomics. This will include assisting in developing and communicating clear and consistent messages, and competitive selling arguments. Generate laboratory applications data, technical data proofs, and product technology evaluations to support specific marketing programs. Assist in developing and implementing global launch strategies for product introductions and subsequent market development. Ensure marketing strategies are aligned across hardware, software and consumable products. Capture customer input (VOC) and emerging trends in key markets, and ensure this information is communicated to product marketing, sales, demo centers and R&E groups. Develop and maintain current competitive marketing information for review and response. Work with key stakeholders (e.g. sales, and customers) to identify and implement effective marketing messages.
  • Perform market research, capture customer input (VOC) and emerging trends in the proteomics, develop and maintain current competitive marketing information for review and response. Ensure the above information is communicated to product marketing, sales, demo centers and R&E groups.
  • Provide input for the development of MarCom pieces to effectively promote products, capabilities, and total solutions, including sales collateral, ad & mailer development, product announcements, technical articles published, sales tools, technical web content, etc. in a timely manner
  • Interface with Product Marketing groups and R&E to insure alignment of strategic marketing goals in specific vertical markets. Insure hardware and software goals are consistent and coordinated for strategic market initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and effective product introductions, including necessary product training for sales, demo chemists, instructors, and customers.
  • Assist marketing programs with the generation and preparation of materials supporting product sales presentations, lab application notes, laboratory “proof” data, and other marketing collateral to support strategic and tactical sales initiatives.
  • Independently develop experiments and follow through with data collection, interpretation, and presentation at technical meetings, trade shows, and other scientific forums.
  • Work with all members of the strategic marketing groups and to ensure plans executed effectively
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Key Competencies):
  • MS degree in science (chemistry, biology, or related discipline) with minimal 3 years of industrial experience or equivalent. Ph.D degree is preferred. Marketing education or experience highly desirable.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining LC/MS instrumentation required. Expertise in chromatographic techniques including method development, fast chromatography, multiple column chemistries, is preferred.
  • Superior oral & written communications and interpersonal/relationship skills – particularly intercultural skills; strong customer orientation.
  • Ability to develop and articulate strategic marketing plans aim at growing life science mass spectrometry business in key markets.
  • Demonstrated technical/scientific knowledge of the LCMS-based Proteomics and Glycomics. Experience with consumable and standard kits highly desirable.
  • High comfort discussing how products are used with customers, and collecting objective feedback.
  • Ability to work effectively and influence others in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to schedule multiple tasks and priorities.
  • High level of intensity and positive approach to embracing change.
  • Prior scientific publication record required.
  • 10-25% travel
