The Mission
The Electronics market division within FEI provides solutions that add quantifiable economic value in well defined commercial applications encompassing process control, accelerated product design, and application specific analysis. We develop and sell well defined solutions based on FEI's core platforms and technologies. The Electronics Market Division is an entrepreneurial group within FEI heavily engaged in new market development.
The Position
The Field Applications Engineer is responsible for supporting the semiconductor WDB(Wafer DA) and/ or DualBeam (DA) market segments, including equipment, demonstration, training, and sales support as necessary. A major area of focus will be ramping new installs (i.e., recipe creation, tool setup) and teaching customer training classes at various customer sites. The position provides a key communication link between the customer and ?xml:namespace prefix = "st1" /
>FEI by providing immediate and concise feedback of any customer and/or application issues to FEI Japan. Sound technical knowledge, solid organization, ability to work independently, experience with failure analysis techniques, and the ability to effectively communicate are all critical to this position.
Specific Deliverables associated with this opportunity include:
> Ability to support customers in Japan.
> Troubleshoot and report software and hardware issues and escalate as necessary.
> Conduct product demonstrations and training as needed.
> Document applications techniques (BKMs) for use by customers (internal and external)
and provide training for new techniques.
> Provide feedback to engineering on system performance, features and problems
encountered in the field.
> Conceive, plan, and conduct experimental research to advance applications
knowledge as applied to the use ofFEI systems for the semiconductor FAB market.
> Aid in the specification of software and hardware development or modification as necessary.
> Assist in development of customer training classes for customers both in Shinagawa Laboratory
and in the field. Recommend and advise on direction for potential applications consistent with
customer requirements and technical feasibility
> Provide scientific and technical support toFEI Japan, R&D, Manufacturing, Customer
Service and other departments as required.
> Assist with writing manuals and technical reviews.
> Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
