Responsible for the application of existing data analysis techniques to Copy Number and SNP array data; development of novel statistical approaches for analyzing data; interaction with research and product development teams for collecting information and providing results; and working with large complex data sets. Provide analytical support for internal product research and development efforts. Must be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Requirements:
Hands-on experience with development and application of data analysis in the field of molecular biology or genomics, microarray analysis and programming desired. Advanced skills in Python, Perl, SQL and proficiency in Linux/Unix and cluster computing are required. Experience with statistical data analysis software (such as R, SAS/JMP or Matlab) and experience with statistical data analysis are essential. Working experience with large volume bioinformatics data is required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, tests, and maintains tools for the analysis of bioinformatics data Gathers and analyzes data from public and proprietary databases
Develops new methods for resolving problems/issues
Creates/maintains software tools and methods
Creates specifications and tools for analysis
Performs programming validation/QC per company SOPs Participates in process and operation improvement opportunities Responds to internal and external inquiries
Provides mentorship, if applicable

Required Education and Experience:
Master's or Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics or related field
- 3-6+ years work experience
Competency in programming skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills
