TRAINING SPECIALIST for AUTOIMMUNITY

Europe IDD

Thermo Fisher Scientific’s ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD), develops, manufactures, and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis of allergy and autoimmune diseases. With over 1,600 employees worldwide, IDD is the global leader in in-vitro allergy diagnostics and a relevant player in autoimmune disease diagnostics.


THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and driven Training Specialist to join our European Commercial Sales Training team; where you will participate in the development, implementation and delivery of training activities aligned with the needs of the ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD).

AS TRAINING SPECIALIST, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Developing training, which enables knowledge transfer of the Autoimmunity (ELiA) & Allergy (ImmunoCAP) Product Portfolios to new IDD starters in the commercial team.
  • Creating training materials to enable understanding of relevant inflammatory disease areas e.g. CTD, celiac disease etc and our tests for these debilitating diseases.
  • Establishing a learning path for new IDD employees featuring the online ELiA University, virtual training and knowledge checkers, to be able to facilitate the delivery of effective and timely induction of our portfolio and business.
  • Adopting a blended learning approach to training design and delivery including activities such as live and virtual classroom, webinars, online e-learning, coaching and mentoring.
  • Contributing to the online ELiA University, keeping modules updated and relevant and developing new elements according to business requirements.
  • Acting as a champion to promote the use of online ELiA University for learning within the commercial team. To monitor & track utilization.
  • Working closely with external training agencies and IDD marketing/sales teams to ensure relevance and alignment of training solutions.
  • Liaising with Global Marketing in Freiburg to create and support an overarching training plan for ELiA and capturing upcoming training needs to support new product launches and campaigns.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the training program’s effectiveness. Maintaining records via ThermoFisher University.
  • Maintaining a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices and incorporating them into our programs as necessary e.g. instructional design, adult learning, and gamification.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE you must have a science related Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of successful healthcare sales (with at least 1 year in capital equipment sales). You will be knowledgeable in the current healthcare marketplace and be able to communicate effectively and translate our disease and product information into targeted key selling messages.
You will need knowledge of Clinical Diagnostics and an understanding of in vitro diagnostic within healthcare.
Experience in training, instructional design or educational content development is essential.
Being output / outcome focused and being able to see projects through to completion is essential as is the need to revisit and update training materials as necessary.
You must have excellent oral and written communication skills. The ability to speak English is essential. Speaking an additional language e.g. German, French or Italian is desirable.
WE ALSO HOPE THAT YOU:
  • Possess a thorough understanding of selling skills and demonstrate excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Can travel approximately 40% - 50% of the time in and around Europe and be willing to work with the experts in Autoimmunity in Freiberg, Germany.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, can “think on your feet”, and are well organized and results focused.
  • Have a strong track record in designing and delivering successful training programs.
  • Are familiar with traditional and modern training methods (instructional design, adult learning, mentoring, coaching, on-the-job, classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc.).
  • Are self-motivated and can work alone or as part of a team.
  • Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals.
  • Are prepared to act as local administrator for the ThermoFisher Learning Management System for ELiA University.
  • Thermo Fisher Scientific is an international, matrix organisation so you should be comfortable working cross-functionally, managing a wide range of priorities and working in an ever-changing environment.
POSITION LOCATION
The role is field based and you will be required to deliver training throughout Europe, attend regular meetings with key stakeholders at our Freiburg and Uppsala sites. Being located close to an airport to facilitate easy European travel would be desirable.
