Job Description

To support the updating of documens and valadation paperwork through the departments change control process.The candidate will also be able to match up documents, paperwork & product to ensure that the customer recieves the correct product line. Training on the trax shipping process that generates AWB for products that ship from the site.

Manufacture Custom Primers for use in the biotech industry that is scientific in nature by following established protocols and instructions in an ISO regulated environment. Demonstrate understanding of safe working practice in a laboratory environment.

Operate semi-automated and automated lab equipment. Follow established protocols, SOP’s and work instructions, scheduled tasks and activities independently.

To cover in the absence of the planner. To ensure assays and core oligo orders flow to the manufacturing process.

Perform in-process testing to assure batches meet specification. Use technical knowledge to aid trouble shooting of processes, procedures and product issues.

Balance multiple tasks and prioritize critical tasks. Demonstrate knowledge in the use of basic lab techniques and good computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Thoroughly and accurately complete documentation (complete BR, get necessary verifications). Manage and implement preventative and corrective actions.

Update various Production/QC reports and spreadsheets. Demonstrate the familiarity with our work processes and proficiency with those processes related to your assigned work center. Ability to write and update standard operating procedures and work instructions for processes.

Demonstrate good time management resulting in efficiency. Drive cost improvement initiatives by reducing failures, improving capacity and using supplies wisely. Reduce work in process, queues and cycle times.

Follow all health and safety measures in place, participate in EHS initiatives and ensure team do the same. Collaborate, support and consult with other team members as necessary. Show an aptitude for process improvement.

Education:

Requires a Degree or Honours degree in biology, chemistry, or equivalent field .Also will consider candidates that have a manuafaturing background within a science field.

Experience:

Requires previous laboratory or manufacturing experience. Must have had experience of working in a team environment. Candidates must have excellent communication written and oral with good computer skills. Has been trained in First aid, spill training & COSHH.

Contacts:

Has high level of contact with all departments. Frequent interaction with customers.

Will also liaise extensively with all other departments on matters relating to quality and service in order to uphold the Company’s commitment to Customer satisfaction. This involves working with people at all levels within the organisation as well as external customers and regulatory bodies.

Working Conditions:

Works in a team based laboratory environment. Is required to lift up to 20 lbs. May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties. Must be able to work safely with chemicals and
