Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Account Manager to continue the momentum in this growing territory. In this role you will sell products from some of our premier brands such as Invitrogen and Applied Biosystems and support leading life science applications for cell biology, protein analysis genome editing, digital imaging, PCR and qPCR.

You will support researchers across Victoria by providing them with state of the art life sciences solutions.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Sell and promote all products represented by Life Sciences Solutions Group (LSG) to identified customer segments in Melbourne
  • Manage existing accounts in the designated territory and to prospect for new business
  • Maintain the customer relationship management (CRM) database
  • Provide information flow to and from the market place
  • Implement consultative selling skills in sales calls to drive growth
  • Maintain existing business, develop incremental business in existing accounts, and to grow business with new customers
  • Host and assist product trade displays
  • Set up and coordinate technical seminars by internal customers such as Research & Development, Marketing and/or a Technical Sales Specialist
  • Respond to enquiries and complaints to ensure that customer expectations are met/exceeded
  • Communicate key competitive activities, trends, and changing customer development plans and priorities, which include emerging customers
  • Conduct customer-specific promotions to encourage sales growth and the development of a positive company position

Required Qualifications:
  • Educated to B.Sc. Hons level or above in a life science discipline
  • Experience in some or all of the following applications is desirable: cell biology, protein analysis genome editing, digital imaging, PCR and qPCR
  • Consultative selling experience desirable
  • Well-developed communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Professional presentation
  • Self-management
