Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for developing purchasing officer to process and co-ordinate all aspects of the Purchasing function for Thermo Fisher Scientific Australia.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage Supplier relationships as related to administration and operational issues.

  • Manage the daily, weekly, fortnightly replenishments fort Australia.

  • Maintain service levels of stock and KPI’s to agreed targets.

  • Review requirement for economical orders for overseas suppliers should they not have been able to be ordered.

  • Run backorders without purchase orders reports weekly, download in excel and review and follow up.

  • Maintain and update weekly reports for Standing Orders, Category A Stock, ETA’s and acknowledgements.

  • Responsible for reviewing the high dollar value indents daily and report on progress of shipments.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in Replenishment Purchasing.

  • High volume, fast moving or similar industry experience is required.

  • Exposure to Hazardous/Dangerous goods Purchasing.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of air & sea freight and how to import product from overseas suppliers.

  • Tertiary qualification in supply chain /logistics.

  • Ability to understand forecasting and reorder points.

  • A complete understanding of ABC analysis of Inventory control.

  • Ability to prioritize workload and consistently meet deadlines.

  • Good computer literacy, excel skills and ERP systems experience.

  • Understanding of purchasing processes from start to completion.

  • Understanding of inventory management concepts and procedures.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
