Job Description

This is a great opportunity for someone to exhibit strong role model leadership. This position will require you to lead a team of commercial employees who manage the development, market share and profitability of the categories brands; both self-manufactured and supplier partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the category team to drive the product lines and brands
  • Formulate growth strategies for the category, initiating and executing a strong business plan
  • Effectively manage all aspects of the marketing mix with an emphasis on pricing, product and promotional strategy
  • Openly communicate with and proactively manage all key category stakeholder relationships (business units, supplier partners, and customers)
  • Manage inventory and product forecasting with the team for the category
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills and lead a team of Product Managers and Product Specialists
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills in actively managing a team to deliver major projects within the Oil and Gas and Construction markets
  • Drive growth and maximise business opportunities
Requirements
  • At least 8 years proven experience in a commercial sales, marketing or business development function within a relevant industry
  • University degree or equivalent tertiary level industry qualification

  • An ability to think strategically and laterally in order to maximise business opportunities and market potential
  • A strong understanding of business development and marketing strategy with an emphasis on effectively managing and implementing brand strategy and the marketing mix
  • High level of commercial and business acumen, detail oriented and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to build strong relationships with staff, customers and suppliers and pass on required knowledge, gaining their confidence and co-operation
  • Strong organisational skills with an ability to prioritise based on key result areas, to manage time effectively and meet agreed deadlines
  • An initiative taker who has the ability to work autonomously, and has an enthusiastic, energetic and positive attitude
  • Outstanding leadership skills and abilities; motivating and engaging
  • Highly motivated and resourceful individual that constantly seeks new ways to improve how work is done
