Key Responsibilities:

  • Applies Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility
  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
  • Assigns Room Leaders and Packaging Technicians to specific rooms based on their capabilities and the production schedule to ensure jobs are appropriately staffed
  • Reviews electronic production orders prior to packaging and notify Project Management when change orders or unplanned deviations are necessary to ensure all items are included to avoid change orders/unplanned deviations
  • Ensures that all Packaging Technicians follow the written instructions contained in the batch paperwork
  • Works with warehouse and labeling to ensure all components are available at job start
  • Review or assign Room Leaders to review and approve electronic batch records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with cGMP’s and customer specifications. Approves electronic batch records and forwards to QA for batch release, when needed
  • Conducts and documents Packaging Technician training. This includes hands-on training, as well as SOP’s, etc. Provides coaching/mentoring to Technicians
  • As part of coaching/mentoring, provide positive feedback and constructive criticism to Packaging Technicians on an on-going basis. Prepares and conducts performance review with Technicians. Performs and documents monthly/quarterly reviews with Technicians on progress against their PMD goals
  • Author and conduct TrackWise investigations (Investigation, root cause, corrective action, preventative action) within prescribed time frame. Address deviations with Packaging Technicians and assist Quality with conducting investigations
  • Actively participates in and contributes to the CAPA system when required or assigned
  • Consistently exhibits self-starting initiative and behaviors and leadership qualities
  • Establishes drives and challenges production rates to meet or exceed targets. Investigate and trend below target performance and propose/implement appropriate solutions
  • At shift start, conduct stand-up meetings with direct reports. Specify any immediate concerns, priorities for the day
  • Practice continuous improvements and involve direct reports in these projects
  • Meets or exceeds established company attendance policies
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required

Education/ Experience (BMQ): Minimum 2 years of college required. Minimum of 3 years experience in pharmaceutical packaging or equivalent experience and education

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language
  • Ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations
  • Intermediate Skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and Outlook
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Excellent planning skills
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Personal accountability

Supervisory Responsibility: Supervises Packaging and Manufacturing Technicians at all levels
