Job Description

Interact and maintain relationships with key ICPs to market to promote the Thermo Scientific brand and Laboratory Equipment products and services.

    • Understand who the key players are in each channel and fostering a relationship to drive growth
    • Monitor market dynamics and understand competitors
    • Work closely with other functional areas within Thermo Fisher Scientific to collaborate, gain support and assistance in execution of channel business/market plans; i.e. Marketing, Product Management, Operations, Commercial Managers.
    • Work well with others and use influence to lead peers and channel partners
    • Develop channel business plans to identify key areas of growth potential and strategy to capture both short and long term growth.
    • Establishes robust monthly business reviews to assess growth targets or variances to plan
    • Develop a strategic plan to optimize channel performance
    • Develop processes to identify category shortfalls within specific product categories and institute measures to improve performance
    • Know how to get market assessment information and have the flexibility to act
    • Actively participate in the AOP development
    • Develop an annual channel marketing plan that supports growth initiatives
    • Establish appropriate sales targets for each channel with input from each business unit
    • Provide a monthly report and track metrics to AOP
    • Create and implement programs that drive revenue improvement
    • Coordinate LPD activities for channels’ National Sales Meetings and other training events

    Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

    • Domestic travel estimated at 40% of time, traveling to interface with internal teams, key customers.
    • BS degree in Sciences, Engineering or Business, MBA preferred.
    • 7+ years experience in industry, academia, or related field with progressively increasing responsibilities.
    • Experience in direct/distribution sales and marketing (2 years minimum).
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to draw conclusions and observations from market trends and sales data analysis.
    • Ability to plan, gain consensus and execute a project to completion and success.
    • Demonstrated success in forming interdepartmental relationships.
    • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, with initiative and good business judgment and attitude.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Experience within company or other Life Science competitor.

    Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

    • Ability to travel domestically (40%)
    • 7+ years experience
    • Experience in sales and marketing (2 years minimum)
    • Experience in Product Services (3 years minimum)
    • Proven ability to complete projects and demonstrate success
    • Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, multi-site environment
    • BS degree in Sciences, Engineering or Business, MBA preferred
