Position Summary:

Thermo Fisher is seeking a highly motivated, director level, individual to help drive our objective to provide exceptional digital experiences to customers across our marketing channels. The Director, Marketing Technology Product Management will be responsible for building Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Marketing Technology Stack to be leveraged across our businesses globally. This individual will be the business partner to IT managing the roadmap and technology enhancements impacting our marketing channels resulting in omni-channel and real time, personalized message delivery. The ideal candidate is an expert in cutting edge marketing technology and possesses a combination of business and technical skills they will utilize to successfully build and maximize our marketing technology investments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate broad industry, commercial and brand concepts into meaningful strategy and actionable plans to build our marketing technology stack
  • Understand overall business and digital strategy to successfully build Thermo Fisher’s Marketing Technology road map and determine resourcing and budgeting needs
  • Build compelling business cases that focus on the return of our marketing technology investments and ensure we are deliverying on our objectives
  • Partners with IT and consultants to advance our marketing technology stack driving the capabilities to execute advanced automation and real time personalization
  • Lead digital technology initiatives within the company, working in close partnership with cross-functional teams and Thermo Fisher businesses globally
  • Researches competitor dynamics and technology, voice of the customer and customer wants/needs; subject matter expert for marketing technology across marketing channels
  • Thinks like a customer and drives marketing technology programs that create an optimized/differentiated user experience for Thermo Fisher Scientific
  • Articulates and translates the overall digital marketing roadmap vision into strategy and tactics for specific programs
  • Leads project research/discovery, requirements definition, metrics analysis, and works with IT team to facilitate development, testing and launch efforts
  • Performs marketing maturity evaluations across Thermo Fisher businesses and regions to assess business readiness for advanced technology
  • Works with IT to ensure on time and quality delivery of initiatives by balancing the business needs versus technical constraints, and escalating issues and risks to drive solutions as necessary
  • Interacts with Executive Leadership; manages by influence, engages with cross-functional teams; evangelist for transforming the way we work and continuous improvement
  • Coordinates among internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of objectives with company goals
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years related experience (digital marketing technology, marketing software or digital product management)
  • Exceptionally well versed in rapidly evolving digital marketing space; marketing technologist familiar with cutting edge products related to omni-channel targeting and real time personalization across various marketing channels
  • Thought leader in advanced marketing technology able to bridge the gap between IT and marketing
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully maximize marketing technology investments
  • Ability to translate strategy into projects and drive project execution; Experience with budgeting and business planning
  • Exceptional verbal/written communication skills; outstanding negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills
  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to formulate and drive detailed plans and key performance indicators to report on the health of each project
  • Collaborate with cross-functional areas (IT, Business Marketing, eBusiness, Digital Marketing, Finance) and third-party vendors throughout project definition and execution.
  • Able to build relationships with key individuals necessary for collaboration
  • Develop and present communications, frequently to senior leadership, communicating the desired message, at the appropriate level, for the right recipient

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
