In Finland we have over 700 employees in Vantaa and Joensuu. Our extensive range of products developed and manufactured in Finland includes pipettes, microplate instruments, magnetic particle processing systems as well as clinical chemistry and industrial chemistry analyzers and laboratory automation solutions. The Vantaa facility houses several different functions such as R&D, marketing, sales, service, logistics, quality as well as instrument and reagent manufacturing and is located close to the Vantaankoski railway station.

R&D Laboratory Technician
Vantaa, Finland

Thermo Fisher Scientific is currently recruiting a R&D Laboratory Technician to our Microbiology Division in Vantaa.

The person will work as an integral part of a multidisciplinary and global R&D team to develop novel LC-MS based applications for clinical microbiology market. Hired person will prepare and analyze protein samples using SPE-LC-MS technology in regulated environment. Tasks can include periods of routine sample preparation and analysis from day to day or shorter term R&D projects.

  • A laboratory technician or B.Sc. level degree (or similar) in chemistry, biosciences or related field
  • Hands-on experience with ESI-LC-MS instruments in beneficial
  • Practical experience in protein chemistry is beneficial
  • At least three years working experience in laboratory
  • Demonstrated ability to execute systematic project work
  • Sufficient computer skills and experience in MS Office package as well as LC-MS instrument software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Finnish and English
  • Good social skills
