Careers at ThermoFisher Scientific

My work is a Story of Potential

My Field Service Story

“As a laboratory information management system (LIMS) Consultant, my basic responsibility is to provide technical solutions for our customers. LIMS is a software program that tracks the lifecycle of the samples in the laboratory and provides functionality such as reporting, instrument integration, security and much more. This helps our customers improve efficiency, productivity, and quality by integrating the lab with their business. Our customers represent many different industries, such as pharmaceutical, petrochemical, metals and mining, as well as organizations that are involved with food safety and public health. For example, a laboratory that tests the quality of drinking water will normally receive samples from different places, such as a water treatment plant, public water sources and in-house taps. They may perform physical, chemical and microbiological analysis with LIMS to ensure all sources provide water that is safe for consumers to drink.”

Javier's Story

“I help our customers obtain high quality, reliable data for their liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LCMS) proteomics applications. Proteomics plays a vital role in drug discovery, diagnostics and molecular medicine. Researchers at universities, pharmaceutical companies and hospitals use proteomics to study proteins in cellular communication, biochemical processes and defending the body against disease.
