Job Description
Position Summary

The Senior Director of Strategy and Business Development has responsibility for driving key business processes in support of the Analytical Instrument Group’s strategy such as portfolio positioning, strategic marketing, investment prioritization and M&A. The Sr. Director will support AIG’s long term strategy efforts by working collaboratively with colleagues, or as an individual contributor, to lead or support key strategic projects. The Sr. Director will also provide project management in support of select business initiatives, both organic and M&A related.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive M&A pipeline management process with Corporate Development and Divisional stakeholders
  • Partner with Corporate Development and AIG Leadership to develop and communicate the strategic business case to obtain support for M&A initiatives
  • Support integration of acquisitions within AIG
  • Lead AIG strategic planning (STRAP) process ensuring strong alignment with Divisions
  • Coordinate the Strategy Deployment process for the Group and ensure strong alignment with STRAP objectives
  • Act as liaison for select strategic initiatives and ensure the appropriate level of focus and discipline in the implementation phase
  • Work on special projects as assigned in connection with AIG’s goals and strategy
  • Provide strategic marketing leadership for AIG
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers within the organization
  • Support Group President on developing content for Board of Directors meetings, investor meetings and annual leadership presentations as it relates to AIG
  • Assist planning and development of press/investor relations content and corporate level trade shows such as Pittcon and Analytica
  • Provide general guidance and support for AIG employee and external communications
  • Assist Group President in nurturing standard work, lean practices and continuous improvement in Group level processes

Minimum Qualifications/ Requirements

  • 10 years of relevant experience required
  • BS or BA required, major in business or technical field preferred. MBA or other advanced degree a plus
  • Strong business acumen with excellent analytical and problem structuring / solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional and personal relationships with key business partners and customers positively impacting business growth
  • Proven track record of effectively driving large scale initiatives from a business and cultural standpoint
  • Exceptional presentation development skills with mastery of Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Outstanding process orientation: must regard all activities as processes that can be continuously improved and act as an agent of change within the Group
  • Strong self-direction and initiative with desire to own and make decisions with input from colleagues and supervisors
  • Up to 30% travel required
