Business Unit Summary:

The Anatomical Pathology Business Unit (APBU) provides hospitals, clinical laboratories, contract-research organizations, defense supply/general services administration and multi-industry OEM’s with the broad portfolio of Instrument and Consumable/Reagent products for use in Histology and Pathology applications.

Position Summary: Responsible for working with BU Marketing, Sales, and Operations world-wide to develop
demand and sales forecast (monthly and annually) for Instrumentation product. This individual will be responsible for timely development of the forecast which will ultimately transform into the Operations Plan. Specifically, this individual is responsible for facilitating periodic Commit-to-Forecast meetings, analyzing sales and demand forecast, analyzing historical and current market data, driving forecast accuracy, and leading the Instrument SIOP process for the APD.

  • Develop, maintain, and continually improve statistical forecasting methods and models used in the forecasting system.
  • Develop and maintain forecast inputs such as historical data, trends, projections and assumptions and support and assess forecast models for new products developed by Marketing.
  • Develop, maintain, and continually improve forecast accuracy metric by identifying sourced of error and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Develop and continually improve processes related to freight expense for Instrumentation and related products.
  • Work collaboratively with the Instrument manufacturing facilities, Commercial Regions, and Sales Offices to determine manufacturing schedules, stocking plans, and inventory requirements for Instrumentation product globally.
  • Through collaboration with Marketing and Operation teams, drive AP BU SKU Rationalization activity within assigned product families.
  • Develop, implement, and manage supply chain processes for Instrumentation products, accessories and spare parts for the global Commercial Sales entities.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in business or other analytical discipline or significant of supply chain planning experience is required.
  • Previous forecasting or financial analysis experience.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to translate complex forecast approaches into terms clearly understood by various client groups, including senior management.
  • Strong analytical skills, combined with practical business acumen.​
  • Strong in building relationships across various functional teams.
  • Sound knowledge of forecasting, inventory management, and production planning.​
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines.​
  • Ability to work well in a global organization within Operations and with external clients.​
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and tools.
  • Ability to work independently, typically initiating own tasks with input/guidance from manager and/or director.
