Job Description
As a Lead Software Test Automation Engineer, you will lead a team of engineers in the implementation and maintenance of Software Test Automation framework for the suite of Thermo Fisher software products. You will work with global software development teams and product test organization to define the optimal framework(s) for software test automation

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define best practices and processes, with focus on providing consistent support to increase the capacity, efficiency and consistency of testing of Thermo Fisher desktop and Cloud applications and reusable software components
  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the test automation framework for both desktop and Cloud applications
  • Provide technical leadership to other on-shore and off-shore test automation developers
  • Take on leadership responsibilities as required. These responsibilities can include creation of documentation, project timelines, assignment and monitoring of tasks assigned to engineering staff and the maintenance of other artifacts needed to support our quality system.
  • Interface with multiple product teams and project management to ensure the usability and scalability of the framework

Minimum Qualifications/ Requirements

  • BS degree with a minimum of five plus years relevant experience
  • A minimum of five years of test automation experience
  • Hands-on software development experience
  • Experience with complete software development product life cycle from concept to development and product testing and final release
  • Strong organizational skills to work with cross-functional teams in defining project requirements is expected
  • Experience with Selenium tools
  • Strong experience with JavaScript in developing or testing web applications
  • Experience with Node.js framework and common asynchronous APIs strongly desirable
  • Experience with Angular2, Protractor, Jasmine, Karma strongly desirable
  • Experience of API testing strongly desirable
  • High level of competence with .Net technologies and languages strongly desirable
  • Experience with using any other scripting language(s) such as VBScript, Perl, Python strongly desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills are essential.
  • Ability to clearly and precisely communicate with management and remote team members
  • Strong focus on customer experience and product quality
  • Experience with both on-site hosted and cloud-based software deployment technologies desired
