At the site in Langenselbold Thermo Fisher Scientific manufactures amongst others; microbiological Biosafety Cabinets, CO2-Incubators, microbiological Incubators, automated Cell Culture Incubators, heating and drying ovens, vacuum drying ovens, as well as high-temperature furnaces on an area of around 15.000m². The departments Sales, Order Fulfillment and Technical Support work with our European customers and support additional product ranges like lab consumables and water treatment systems. Currently around 600 employees work at Langenselbold covering production, R&D, administration, sales and service.

Position Summary: The primary responsibility of the role is to provide technical support for Thermo Scientific laboratory consumable products and associated equipment to our European customers and internal personnel by utilizing all available resources.

Your Tasks:
  • Answering technical enquiries for Thermo Scientific laboratory products with focus on consumables and associated equipment and services
  • Technical support to end-users, distributors and internal personnel such as Sales and Customer Service throughout Europe
  • Provide technical, scientific and regulatory information and documentation
  • Assist our customers with product selection and application related questions
  • Provide remote IT support for instrument software via Email and Phone
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our customers allegiance and satisfaction
  • Document and process product quality complaints within the CRM complaint management system
  • Cooperate closely with other departments including Sales, Customer Service, Order Fulfillment, Quality, Manufacturing and Marketing
  • Support internal process improvement projects
  • Provide product and application training as required

Your Qualifications:
  • A successfully completed degree in a technical or scientific field such as Biotechnology (Bachelor, Master or PhD)
  • A minimum of three years’ laboratory or related business experience preferably in a technical support or customer service role
  • Fluent English skills (verbal & literate) are mandatory for this position
  • Experience in quality management with regards to Medical Devices / In Vitro-Diagnostics would be of advantage however is not a must
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills, communicates effectively and concisely on all levels, superior prioritization skills
  • Customer focused ‘can-do’ attitude combined with excellent communication skills
  • Experience with working in an international team
  • Excellent IT skills and experience with MS Office, SAP and a CRM are expected
  • Self-managing and self-motivating team player
