Portable Analytical Instruments, a business unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific, is the leader in handheld XRF, Raman, and Infrared devices that enable precise material identification and characterization across a wide variety of end markets. It is the product of three acquisitions over the past decade and brings together a product portfolio with leading market positions globally.

The Inside Sales Representative will work promoting, selling, and supporting Company products and services.
  • Driving growth and commercial excellence
  • Create and develop a stream of sales leads
  • Quickly respond to sales leads from numerous sources
  • Qualify sales leads for prospective customers
  • Achieve individual annual sales quotas and support the sales team in achieving their specific quotas
  • Provide accurate and timely sales forecasting
  • Handle or redirect customer sales inquiries, orders, and technical support
  • Provide technical and commercial sales support
  • Master adequate product knowledge to inform prospective customers
  • Create customer sales quotes
  • Review purchase orders and contracts for accuracy
  • Maintain and refresh knowledge of industry trends and competitive offerings
  • Understand and discuss trends, customer concerns, and competitor activities
  • Deliver sales presentations, seminars, or workshops
  • Provide support to trade shows and conferences
  • Maintain customer account, contact, and lead information
  • Foster a positive image of the Company with customers
  • Maintain strong, lasting customer relationships
  • Assist with department reports and metrics
  • Responsible for the sale of Pharma Chem services and support in the US and PR
  • Deliver XRF instrument sales from lead through to conversion
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • Driving growth and commercial excellence.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of inside sales or related experience
  • Associate’s Degree required
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of sales and marketing
  • Fluent verbal and written communication in (English)
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook skills
  • Minimal travel required (5-10%)
  • Customer focused
  • Presentation skills
  • Experience in large global companies a plus
  • Independent worker requiring minimal supervision
  • Positive and optimistic personality type
  • Maintain a bias for action
  • Consistently follows through on all assigned tasks
  • Ability to solve challenging problems
  • Thrive in a high energy, face-paced work environment
