In this position you will be part of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD), which develops, manufactures, and markets blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergy, asthma and autoimmune diseases. With 1,500 employees worldwide, IDD is the global leader in in vitro allergy testing and also the European leader in autoimmunity diagnostics.

Thermo Fisher IDD is looking for a Data and Analytics Manager who can provide the leadership needed to continue developing our aggressive digital strategies. The person in this role will lead a team of contracted professionals in the creation of a unified data warehouse and formalization of a number of products and services built atop that infrastructure. The Data and Analytics Manager will lead a data unification project that will enable numerous value, utilization, and efficiency driving products and services to modernize Thermo Fisher IDD. In general, the IDD Data Warehouse will unify disparate internal databases as well as external data sources to provide a complete picture of the Allergy, Asthma, and Autoimmune markets. We will build a single source of truth, structured data warehouse to be scalable: so other countries and geographies can easily join, flexible: to handle multiple types of data streams, and built for the future: so that it can adapt to an every changing market.


· Oversee functionality and design for the flexible, scalable, and easy to use data warehouse.

· Produce automated and simplified dashboards and visualizations to help leaders make data driven decisions

· Breadth of skills and experience that will make products loved by customers We need someone who can develop a deep understanding of what users need, a deep empathy for users and a clear vision of how the product should evolve

· Work in a cross functional and collaborative role spanning product, design, development, QA, marketing, sales and support

· Leverage cross-team collaboration to drive buy-in and agreement on the product.

· Create functional specification and design requirements for data warehouse and data integration services

· Proven expertise at commanding the respect of engineering, sales and marketing departments and being the “voice” of the product

· Decisive and detailed oriented personality, and ready and willing to stand by their decisions

· Ability to thrive in the dynamic environment that comes with being part of an innovative startup from its early days. That means flexibility and willingness to jump in and do whatever it takes to be successful

  • Substantial data and analytics experience with demonstrated success that includes development and implementation of internal and external data products and services
  • Sales, strategic marketing, and/or market research experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully leading, building, and implementing data and analytics platforms that are easy to use and enable distributed teams
  • Strong analytical and qualitative skills as well as the ability to synthesize and integrate customer insights data, draw conclusions/implications, and translate into comprehensive strategies and business decision recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, to take initiative, be resourceful, and exercise astute business judgment to drive performance.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating cross-functionally in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to lead and influence change is required.
  • Vendor management and digital strategy experience strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in building Database architecture, SQL queries, scripts and ETL processes. Familiarity with Tableau and other visualization tools a plus.
  • This position requires international travel – up to 25%, as required.

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • A Master's degree in Data Science, Data Architecture, Computer Science, MBA, or related field is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, to take initiative, be resourceful, and exercise astute business judgment to drive performance.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written presentation skills in English
  • You should have a passion for technology and working in the life-science sector.

This position has not been approved for relocation. The person in this role may be based remotely in Chicago, Detroit, New York, or any major metropolitan area (East Coast preferred).
